Hello @Randy, thanks for the great video. My question to you is regarding the 1st BoomX-D kit - what settings did you use for for the mics and what did you have to do in post? I know its all relative but just wanted your method.
Thank you so much for your review!! 2.4G will be indeed not stable as UHF tech. But I believe the onboard recording can make up perfectly! As to the clipping sound, I didn't find it out in your video. Could you please tell me more details via email? I will report it to our tech department and handle this issue as soon as possible ;)
Thanks for working with me! It’s really awesome tech! I will send an audio example by email so you can see what I mean. It’s not a massive concern, but thanks for looking into it!
I'm a fan of you guys products had the older generation mic packs from comica, I wish one day you guys could do a mic set up like the picomics really small and or some that could connect more than two mics to 1 receiver! Image 4 or 5 people talking
Hi, I have a macbook air with only thunderbolt and 3.5mm slot. Is there any reason why I can't choose the device (Comica boomXD) in sound "input" ? It doesn't seem to work on my computer in zoom. Can anyone help please ? Thanks!
@@SmileyCandy Hi there! I replied before with an article link, but it seems that comment was gone. Could you please dm us on ins so that we can send you more details?
Just make sure the format you've created is the right file-type. I believe it requires a Fat-32 format if I remember correctly, but I may be wrong. Hope this helps
Ok i like your review i will get them! always nice to have a good wireless audio with backup recording at a nice price! $269 - $239 give or take! now on 2023!
Excellent review. One question: when you compare the audio quality recorded by the receiver into the camera, how does it compare to the quality of the safety tracks recorded within the transmitters? Is there any difference in quality?
Great question. From what I can tell it’s virtually identical. Then levels might be a bit different because of your cameras gain setting. But they sound comparable!
I should add, I was switching interchangeably between the two in many of the outdoor shots at the park. Some was camera sound and some was internal recording.
Hello Sir, Thanks for the helpful info. Do you know whether you could charge the receiver via USB while it is in use. It would be helpful for longer use for not to loose power. Do you mind give it a try in your system and let us know if that works? Does anyone else here could give info on that aspect? Thank you in advance.
Thanks for this. It did help me to determine to purchase this mic system. Have you done a camera review of the new Panasonic LUMIX s5ii and kit lens? I'm interested in that from you if you do that kind of stuff. Cheers.
@@randyrektor I wouldn't wait, man. You're going to be 4 months behind the curve from everybody else. You don't need any bigger file size or image quality for a few years. Buy NOW.
@@randyrektor People are saying external recording on the s5ii basic can record externally through the HDMi out. You might want to check on that. It may be Panasonic throwing out a lie to get others to wait for the X for marketing reasons. Marketing ploy.
I thought I was going crazy, but I was getting some clipping at the mic (before getting to the receiver). I watched some other videos, and people were having a similar issue. I figured it was user error, but it seems like the auto-gain on the transmitters is a bit unreliable. I'm interested to see if this can be patched with firmware.

I'm really interested in this system. However, I'd like to connect the receiver directly to my PC using a USB data cable. Have you tried that by chance? I reached out to Comica support and they confirmed that it can record directly into a PC using a USB cable. But I can't find any reviews where they test that function.
@@randyrektor no worries. I've seen two other creators mention it in their video, but not test it. I'll probably grab this kit and try it for myself. Thanks for the fantastic interview!
@@randyrektor so I was able to confirm this first hand. The BoomX-D Pro can record directly into a computer using the included 3 way USB-C to single USB-A cable. I had no issues using it this way right out of the box. I just wanted to report back in case anyone else asks about it.
Great question. I should have tried that. Just tested it with the lav from the Deity, and it was not recognizing it. That said the Deity one has a locking thread on it, and it didn’t feel like it sat in all the way. Maybe another lav might work, but I don’t have other ones to test out, sorry.
Not as good as a shot gun microphone? Really? I can bet my life on these microphones. Nothing comes close, besides, how many seconds does it take to add a little oomph to the sound 🤷🏾♀
Say hi if you want the official mic shootout
Your dog "interview" has to be one of the top things I have ever seen on RUclips.
Thanks for the kind words. Just trying to be as thorough as possible 😂😂
I'm giving you a thumbs up for the peanut butter scene with your dog 😂😂😂😂
Thanks! I’m trying to be thorough in these experiments 😂😂
So good the mic on the chest! I didn’t know it could sound so great!
Yea it’s pretty good, isn’t it!
BoomX-D PRO looks really great. Thanks for showing us how the on-board recording works ;)
Thanks so much for watching :)
Loved this subbed dude ❤️
Thanks so much 🙏🏻

Do you still recommend this for a budget rode wireless go 2? If no, could you please provide an alternative? Thank you! 🙏 Gary comparison
Hollyland Lark Max would be my recommendation! :) I have a vid covering them :)
I formatted it to free up memory, now it's not recording in the internal memory anymore, WHAT TO DO?

I will absolutely test them together :)
How is the sound quality from the lav?

Is the boom pro compatible with the boomx-d series?
I believe it is. It’s actually called the BoomX-D Pro, so likely but don’t take my word for it :p

How did you get the silver play button with only 1.430 subcribers?
That's from my wife's channel @baileypelkman :) She does music covers and lifestyle videos.

Can you use any lav mic? Or the ones that come with it since it has that locking pin thing on the top
