About time that I filmed one of these! After not seeing one for some time I thought that all the MRs were scrapped or sent away, but lo and behold they are still alive and well. This particular MR seems to be in better condition cosmetically compared to some of the MRUs, and what stands out to me on this one is the minimal rust and somewhat clean rims. To make this truck even better, it’s definitely one of the better MRs that I’ve heard so I made sure to include ample driving shots. Overall I was very happy to catch this, as it has been on my list of things to film for quite a while!

Another awesome video! In the Elk Grove yard we had one of these that was retired out of commercial service and used as a residential backup. I once did a whole recycle route in Skokie bailing in and out of the driver’s side of the truck the whole day. I was definitely sore by the end of it! People don’t realize how nice that stand up right side is for residential until you don’t have it anymore.
Glad to hear you enjoyed this one! That would be really cool to see running residential, although I can only imagine how incredibly annoying that would get after a while climbing in and out of such a high cab. Low Entry configurations are definitely the way to go for residential rear loaders
Amazing video! Great to see some commercial footage. This truck looks and sounds really cool. Growling MRs are always super entertaining. I loved watching it pickup dumpsters as well as carts. Awesome catch man!

Great video, Grant! Definitely one of my favorites from you. I always love seeing Groot, so this truck was no exception. I agree with you 100% when you said this truck looked better than the MRUs; this thing is fresh! I tend to not like driving shots, but I will excuse these for obvious reasons lol. Also reall enjoy seeing Qwik-Tips since it's almost like a tipper for a dumpster. I also enjoyed the cart tipper they have on this truck. Almost reminds me of something European the way it levels out. Great video once again!
Thanks Will! I was pretty stoked about this find haha I agree it’s always nice to see Groot, especially classics like these. They really have kept this thing in good condition too, i was quite surprised. I also normally don’t get a ton of driving shots but upon hearing this thing I just knew I had to. Ive always been a Qwik-Tip guy too, its a great design and very operator friendly. I liked the tipper too, although I don’t think it was the best decision for them to have rolled out Icon series carts to some customers haha but it does have that European vibe. Glad you enjoyed the video my man!
