Man it is such a relief seeing someone like you practice this things, and having this little mistakes although you've been playing professionally for so long. It makes me feel a lot more easy on myself. It demonstrates that we are all human, and that unless you practice, that you put the effort, stuff is not going to just appear out of the blue. You are a huge inspiration Bob. Thanks man.
I've started learning jazz for about three months and was soooo confused about the balance between theoretical stuff and actual inprovisation, but man your video just clarified everything. I think I finally get it what "find your own stuff" meant just thanks alot man I definitely became a huge fan of you
I know this was a while back but damn, 11pm??? I love your practice space. One of the biggest limitations to practicing for me is that I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. Would love to hear how you built that space - something I'd like to do someday and also if you have any tips for soundproofing the horn (e.g. have you tried any of those soundproof cases?)
Hey man, I've really been enjoying these videos, I hope you're doing well! I was wondering if you could maybe give some pointers on how to make life easier for sax players when you're playing with them? Just some things that are either annoying or appreciated from the perspective of a sax player. Thanks in advance.:)
First off, thanks for the great example on how to properly be productive within shedding. Second, please come to Orlando Florida. Trust me you WILL have a crowd.
Hey Bob I've been really enjoying watching your vlogs for a while now! Could you please name some practice-exercise books for intermeddiate-advanced students that you recommend? Thanks a lot, keep uploading your inspiring vlogs!!
That's cool. One question, do you use your side keys frequently? I have had teachers tell me to use my side keys and others that told me it doesn't really matter. I have started using my side C and Bb keys primarily for the past year and now I'm caught in an awkward in between instinct of side keys and flipping (B to C) and rolling biss like you just did. Do you have any opinions on the two methods?
I sampled some of your voice and playing in a song: soundcloud.com/user-275627628/72-fade-prod-emilio-valley Hope you like! (It's just a voice at the beginning and some saxophone halfway through)

Hey Bob, guitar player here. I am happy I did not skip the video. :) I hope this finds you well and thanks for the wonderful content.
I almost skipped this video because you said it would be boring for non-saxophone players. Glad I didn't.
these vlogs are motivational every morning.
any upload on your channel is also motivational sir :) :)

That intro was the most relatable occurrence ever 😂 I've done that countless times
Absolutely in love with this version of Wise One. Especially @5:53
4:04 glad I'm not the only one that wonders around the room when practicing lol
LOL! IKR!
Just learning how to place a chromatic approach tone to any note, either above and/or below and in any key is very useful for soloing. Good video.
Your videos are my magazines lol
+AdamOuissellat Same here!
Gary Campbell, the author of that book was my teacher. Amazing player and super nice guy.

Another great tool to add to the tool box! 👌
Expansions! My absolute favorite jazz practice book-- so concise!
I like the outro the best!

Hi! What do you think of oliver nelson' s patterns for improvisation?
Are those headphones on the desk behind you the same ones that fell off your head during your solo in Outlier on the We Like It Here DVD?
+Always Be Whelmed yes
+Bob Reynolds Fantastic! sorry if that came off a little stalkery.
+Always Be Whelmed haha! All good.
+Always Be Whelmed i feel like it came off more Snarky
UAD !! Good choice!
When it comes to musical and theoretical exercises, nothing is specific to saxophone. All instruments can benefit from things such as this.
Name do book?
Gary Campbell Expansions : )
3:07 Did you just roll the biss key to the B key?
+Peter Trigiani sure

Peter Trigiani have control of all possibilities; use most ergonomic for any given scenario. I use side C when it makes life easier, etc.
Peter Trigiani Im sure Bob wouldn’t mind if I mention that Greg Fishman has a great video on the bis key; changed my ideas about it.
