Re-Queening using VSH queens

We discuss how to requeen a colony by removing the existing and starting a new one-off that existing queen and re-queening her hive with a better mite-resistant queen that will provide offspring to help manage Varroa mites with Varroa Sensitive Hygiene. This is a behavior that is undertaken by the worker bees in sensing which capped brood has mites reproducing in them and terminating those mites and often those pupae.

I think the breeding yards the “big guys” use are lacking drone numbers for all amount of queens they are mass producing.Reaulting in weak queens.
The weather doesn’t help but I am looking at AZ hives to combat that. I have the insulated barn just need to make the hives.

In this video you split the hive and installed the new queen immediately, isn't it better to let the new split to be queenless for a few days for a better chance of acceptance.

It doesn’t hurt, and often I am limited with time so I often just cage introduce. I was in that hive today and the new queen is laying away. Thanks for the comment and watch!

Maybe, I’ve tried free releasing queens before right away and had hives accept, not recommended though. I just think it depends on each hives temperament.

I have only one hive and I don't like the brood pattern. I want to remove the queen and start over with a vhs queen.
