I got one of these a few weeks ago and it worked fine for balance charging. However, when I decided to do a storage for my lipos, with the correct settings for storage it still charged my batteries even when it was set to storage. I watched the voltage continue to rise as it was suppose to be reducing the cells to storage voltage. The only way i could store them was to put it in discharge mode. Remarkably, it stored the cells at the proper balance amount. Don't know if the menu selection is faulty but that is how ai got it to store. And all cells were at the same 3.4 volts per cell. PS. it was the same on all my batteries I have so it was not the batteries.

I think there are tutorials about them, some can be used as a laboratory source, others can actuate PWM motors or foam cutters. Hi Viorel, how do I wire the outputs of the iMAX B6 V2 to charge a Hubsan Drone's LiPo 4200mAh 11.4v 47.9Wh battery, since it has 3 cells and 4 wires? The IMAXacB6 has 3, 4, 5, & 6 outputs; but the iMAX B6v2 only has a 6 conductor plus (-) (as well as the + and - output). I can't seem to find any videos or manual diagrams on what the balanced outputs would wire to on the Hubsans' red, white, white, black wired cable.
3 cells means 3S, there should be two big main wires for plus and minus, that's all you for charging without balancing.Do that for beginning, eventually plug the auxiliary 4 pins (white?) connector without the main big ones! and go to IR menu until you have 3 resistances on display..that should be the position for balance charging
Yes..BMS is only checking for the admitted voltages up and down..keep on the safe margins and some models doing balancing too..The charger is a need because Li batteries must to be charged in a very proper way..
New model?...Well...without Usb port for charging or changing the firmware if necessary......without fan for the critical discharging programm, which can be dangerous for the charger if too many amps are selected , even with the protection (for me 0,5A discharge power is the maximum to avoid heat and Pbs in the charger). Be careful when discharging multi-cells batteries. The IMAX B6 Mini seems for me much safer and a better choice with its USB port and the fan included.
@@viocaia Good choice!! I must say a lot of people are afraid with a possible equilibration Pb with their batteries. With my own experience, if the battery is built with good cells with the same charging values from the beginning, I don't always use the balance programm but the fast-charge , and I never have any equilibration problem. With Lifepo4 it's really not necessary all the time . I build my own batteries and I always pay attention to the good quality and equilibration of each cell before assembling. The only problem is a suddenly faulty cell , in particular with batteries built with old cells , but even a very good charger cannot protect against this problem. So the IMAX is not the best , but finally secure... My first attention for a charger is the possible choice of the terminal voltage : I always charge at 4,15V/ 4,18V per cell maxi and not 4,20V : I loose a very little capacity, but I preserve better the batterylife. It's possible with the IMAX in the charge memory programm : here we can choose the terminal voltage (4,18v mini) and it's respected.
