Paneer Hyderabadi is a delicious recipe with a rich green gravy made up of spinach, onions and coriander leaves as the main ingredients.
Paneer Hyderabadi Recipe :
Ingredients :
- Paneer 200gms cut into cubes
- Curd 2 tbsp
- Cream 2 tbsp
- Whole garam masala:
1 black cardamom (elaichi)
4 green cardamom (elaichi)
4 Cloves (lavang)
Two 1 inch Cinnamon(dalchini)
- Spice powders :
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli powder 1 tsp
Garam masala powder ½ tsp (Link to our Garam Masala Recipe: • GARAM MASALA RECIPE | ... )
Kasuri methi 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Green chillis - 1 finely chopped
For the paste :
- Spinach (Palak) one small bunch, roughly chopped
- Coriander leaves one bunch, roughly chopped
- Green chillies- 2 roughly chopped
- Onions sliced-1 medium
- Tomatoes, small - 2
- Ginger -1 inch piece
- Garlic- 7 cloves
Preparation:
- Add 1 tbsp oil & add onions.Fry till the onion is just soft
- Add the ginger garlic & green chillies & fry for a minute
- Now add the tomato & cook till soft.
- Add the spinach and cook till soft & add the coriander leaves.
- Just mix it well & switch off
- Cool this & blend it into a smooth paste
Process :
- Heat oil & add the whole garam masalas. Flavour the oil & remove
- Now add the finely chopped green chillies & then the green paste. Cook for 3-4 mins
- Switch off the heat & add the beaten curd & the cream. Mix well & cook on low flame for few minutes till oil separates
- Now add the powders other than garam masala & kasuri methi. Also add the salt
- Once oil separates add the paneer pieces. After 2 mins add the garam Masala powder. Mix well
- At the end add the crushed kasuri methi , mix well & simmer till done

The whole garam masala was only to flavour the oil. It's discarded after flavouring the oil.

Nice recipe however slightly spicy. People who don't eat too spicy can reduce the no of chilli's..

If you don't wanna convert... Boil chicken ( 1 whistle in pressure cooker ), ( 30 min in pan ) & put it with chicken stock instead of Paneer !!!
You can put boiled Mutton too..
Mam khadai paneer, paneer rikka masala, malai kofta, kaju paneer, khoya paneer, matar paneer, paneer handi ye sab banaiye na😅

Mouth watering... But why you didn't fry those paneer pieces...?? We use to fry paneer pieces while cooking any paneer items... BTW, this is a new style for me; I will definitely try this.... :)

Any restaurant I go, I find dishes named Hyderabadi are always green in colour. As a Hyderabadi, I find that weird.
Very nice presentation. Most importantly the frying pan that you have used looks like a very high quality non stick utensil. Very nice and very clean recipe.

Mujhe apki har fish bht achi lagti he.. bht kuvh try kiya he sbu taste me bht hi achhe hte he.. no doubt.. bt u suggest agar khane me kam oil use kare to bht achha hga.. kynki me har process same krti hun only oil kam daalti hun..

Where did the fried spices go?
smrithi priya ...the whole spices were added for flavour...they were removed once the oil was infused with the flavour 😊

Best with cream, but if that's not available you can add cashew nut paste 😊
What oil do you use?
Mostly Refined Sunflower oil but when I use a different oil or ghee I specify in the recipe 😊

Palak can be replaced by fudina little so it will have different taste from palak paneer! Also if paneer is sautéed it gives amazing taste
