Very good video. Have you installed a ‘glue and nail’ down with engineered floor? Specifically with wood plank subfloor?

Excellent video. I’ll be doing the same thing. I wish you would have shown how you finished the space next to the base board. I have way to much base board to remove it for this project so I will need to use a piece of shoe or quarter round either the floor color or white base board color.

What can you use to remove adhesive on the boards? My floors currently look a little cloudy due to tracking footprints

Had carpet in bedroom continuing hardwood from living room to bedroom was able to remove the hardwood piece that butts up to the carpet in the door way The question is will this be a good starting point to continue the flooring and it is the same identical flooring another words lock in the first piece under the door then keep running the floor?

Aren’t you supposed to test the slab for moisture sealant and remove them prior to glueing your floor?

So I’m butting up next to the same wood floors I’m installing into two separate rooms. There used to be carpet in the two rooms and wood in the rest of the house. Anyways should I start at the door way or what? I can email photos if you like of the two rooms

great video thanks. Ive been looking for info on a hard wood floor. I nailed most of it down but a small part is unable to be nailed so I need to glue it. Im looking to find info on the vapor barrier. Does the glue have those qualities in it. I can't imagine you can glue the wood floor to the vapor barrier. Thanks. One note I have for your kids. Knee pads if you want to be walking in 20 years.

Interesting video, I’m putting down about 1400 sq ft of engineered wood on concrete. I got the wall-to-wall carpet & tack strips out, swept and cleaned up the floor ready for hardwood. If my walls aren’t straight then there not much I can do except start straight and cut the last piece to fit. There are so much baseboards, corners & columns taking off base board is out of the question. What would you recommend for finishing the edges against the base boards? A thin quarter inch x 1/2 “ shoe painted white. Or white quarter inch round?
No corners are 90°, they are rounded so base boards are cut with two 45°s piece to accommodate the rounded corners.
    Thanks for the informative video.

Either chalk, or preferably, lay a lazor line down on the floor. Near the side where your "starting corner" is, in the area of your start.
Align your first board alomg the lazor, or chalk, line, and then lay to the wall.
Walls are NEVER straight, ever. Plan accordingly, do not line up your flooring w any wall. It needs to be straight, even though the house isn't. There are other tips to "fake" those lines, kinda, but, it's very case-specific.
Contact a super-experienced tradesman w an outstanding reputation for perfect work & ask him or her.

I’m debating to glue my floors down vs nailing them down. Can you provide information on installing over a plywood. Also, I’ve been reading and watching about this and most recommend to start at an exterior wall. In you case you started at an interior wall can you elaborate on that. Now I am confused which wall to start at?

If you have a plywood subfloor then nail down will come out the best and you wont have the added expensive of glue which is super expensive! I try to lay my jobs out so im always laying in front of my not behind me I dont like doing back fills. Id much rather keep going forward.
