    I love the thermal suites! If I don’t have a room that includes the spa, I prepay online. It’s discounted and it ensures that I get a spot, since they limit how many people can get a package. It definitely makes the cruise better and the waterfall in the pool is a great way to self massage, also. On some ships, they offer essential oil scrubs that you can use in steam room. The last cruise I took was 21 days, and I got 3 refillable scrubs for about 28 dollars, but the price is different on different ships and in the past wasn’t refillable (maybe it’s different on other ships, too). I asked about scrubs on the first day on spa tour and purchase it through my tour guide. Anyway, I would use a whole jar in the steam room daily, and have it refilled on the way out. I was totally pampered! If they don’t provide scrubs, you can buy an Elemis scrub at the front desk of spa. If you do scrub in the steam room, make sure you use the water hose in there to clean up after yourself or bring in an extra towel.

      We also loved the thermal spa and found it was a good price. Great tip to buy before you go and about the scrubs. That sounds amazing right about now. We are definitely going to ask about the scrub next time we go. Happy travels 🦩

    We always get the thermal spa package. If you pre purchase before your cruise, it usually runs $220 for total trip. Having this peaceful space with views and thermal pool and sauna makes this well worth the price. BTW ... great review guys!

    I always book a room with thermal access or pre pay for the week. It’s especially amazing when you’re having tea while laying on the warm stone and looking at Glacier Bay (Alaska). Of all cruises we’ve been on, the Thermal access on NCL is the best. Even when I book a massage, they seem to do a better job than other ships I’ve been on.

    We went in November and spent quite a bit of time in there. We had nasty weather all week. Florida was in the 40’s. It was too windy to dock at the private Island. We had a spa suite so it was included in the price of the room.

    As a Solo traveler I partied every evening and used the Thermal Spa each morning to recoup. Was also great to get away from kids on spring break and the crowds for awhile. I waited to tour before deciding and paid about $220 since it was only a 7 day cruise. I would have saved $20 before embarkation otherwise.

      I have cruised on several different cruise lines and found that NCL Cruise Line takes care of the solo travelers, and is so far the best for solo travelers. I have been on 5 different NCL cruises utilizing the studio cabins. I always purchase the spa package online. Some of NCL's ships even have a snow room along with the steam room, etc.

    I just booked an Alaska Cruise for April 2022 and got the Spa Club Balcony Suite. My Hawaii cruise in August 2019 was my first and I got the thermal spa access for the week and it wound up being a blessing. I spent time in the thermal spa every day, sometimes morning and evening. It's something I know i'll get on every cruise going forward.

    My wife & I paid $169 USD each for 11 nights recently in Jade. Really loved it, however on the Jade there was separate areas for men & women (spa, sauna, steam & showers) but then a together space with heated tile beds & large therapy pool. Would have preferred the area together but enjoyed it just the same. If you purchase before boarding it is a little cheaper as well. The area was quiet which we loved & also had great views out of the front of the ship. Will be looking for a thermal area on any future cruise ship we sail.

    My experience was before Covid changes, but Absolutely worth every penny. Unlimited acess from early am until closing. Not sure if this has changed. Loved every second. Perfect for downtime in between sunbathing on deck and dinner. Or early morning. Does anyone know whats the new capacity due to new rules? I used the salt bath daily. I dont know what it did for me other than it was cool to be in and relaxing. Great conversations with othe guests. All around an amazing experience if you really like the calm amd serene atmosphere with zen music. Best naps of my life were in here.

    Only minor annoyance are people who use a towel or robe to “save” a thermal chair while using another amenity. There’s even a sign that says not to do that. In busy times half the chairs can get “reserved”

    • @TravelingFlamingo
      @TravelingFlamingo  5 лет назад +6

      Totally agree, we were in Hawaii and one of the hotels had a good process to stop this. They would "fold" the towel a special way and place it on the foot of the chair. 1hr later if it was still there they would pick it up. It was great! 100% agree, I really wish the cruise lines would pay attention to that. Especially on the crowded Lido decks!

    My wife and I have taken 10 NCL cruises and have purchased the thermal suite package every time.
    Our usual routine is to work out in the gym then use the showers in the spa and then spend time in the thermal suite. I try to go every day.
    It’s best when quiet. Occasionally, there will be a loud conversation going in one of the hot tubs, steam room or sauna. That can really put a damper on the whole “relaxation” part of the experience.

      That sounds like a great routine. We liked the gym on board as well. It was nice to have some windows and we didn’t find it too busy. Thanks for sharing

      Filtered water and infused water in the spa area so they had to post not to fill containers and bottles. The taste was so much better.

    When do you find out if you've won the bid?

    • @TravelingFlamingo
      @TravelingFlamingo  5 лет назад +1

      You'll find out about a week or two before you sail if your bid was accepted (via email) and your cruise paperwork will be updated with a new room. Thanks for commenting and watching!

    If it opened earlier and stayed open later, it would a great deal.

      Absolutely! We often found we were there right until closing or would have wanted to go in and relax after dinner but it was closed.

    Getaway spa ridiculous small for amount of passes they sell. Would never buy on that ship. Escape spa is huge way worth it on that ship

      That is a good point, if they are selling a lot of passes it can make for a very different experience. Happy travels.

    What did you mean you bid for the pass online? How do you do this?

    • @TravelingFlamingo
      @TravelingFlamingo  5 лет назад

      Generally, about 60 days before your cruise you'll be sent an offer to "bid" to upgrade your suite. In this case, we decided to go with a "Sail Away" cabin which means they will pick it for you (lowest price). We had an offer to upgrade and we put a bid in. Our bid was accepted and we were "upgraded" to the Thermal Spa access rooms. We have a video about it here: ruclips.net/video/tkEKc-Gv9UU/видео.html
