One bad thing about the new 911 is that to use the launch control you have to have the traction control on. However it is very uncomfortable to switch it off again once you are under way and in a race. Notice that they also have it on (yellow blinking light). Does it slow them down a bit, i wonder?
I think on a dry track, the RR 911s would be faster, but the track in the vid is obviously damp. I think that if you are getting a Carrera or S model, you should stick with RR due to the natural balance of the 911. AWD just introduces understeer and more front weight bias, which eliminates the nimble character of the 911 layout.
Kern O'Leary not at all I have friend with a 2007 nismo..I think Nisan doesn’t want add any forced induction because they don’t want to impact GTR sales.Thats why there hasn’t been many changes.
@Tswift831 GT-R will probably wear out all of its brake pads within 4 laps though, lol. Since it's such a heavy car. Atleast the Porsches will be able to compete through more than 5 laps, since it's a well balanced car, weight, power, and braking. Not saying GT-Rs a bad car, but if it was a bit lighter, it would definitely be an exceptional car.
porches are great cars, just to expensive. id get me something else for 80k. and the 370z did very well considering its heavier and front engined compared to mid engine porches. Good vid.
@MagicAyrtonforever Thats awesome man! yeah 911's are amazing vehicles but yeah as you pointed out the 370z is just a bargain. i mean you loose a lot of horsepower but with a little tuning im sure you can get it to a 911 specs. I had an 05 350z, good car but never really had that wow factor. but i really want a 370z! i should have one when i turn 21!
@EfiniSeven I'll agree with Nissan making heavy cars, 'cause I've owned a G35 myself. But, Porsche is not an ugly VW. Yes, through the lines, Porsche has made their models with similar looks. But their performance has always been on point, but to me.. most Porsche owners are mid class who doesn't want to dish out another 3-4k for the Factory Aero Kit on the Carrera, which gives it a near GT2/3 look. Same with the Porsche Cayman, I love the dual exhaust for the type S.
@Dimmuborgir6969 you obviously havent ever driven a well tuned/upgraded 996 or 997 Turbo you are at 80 mph in first gear it may look like a chick car to you but it has way more torque than u can imagine
at first of all the 4s have AWD and more traction on a wet track like this,the s and the normal carrera lose the start because the RWD caused wheelspin,when the driver in the carrera 4 didnt failed the start he would be in the top of the race.

Nisan really needs to incorporate a supercharger for 370z
Nissan should re-introduce a new S-chassis. The Z has always been a bit too heavy and the last generation looks hideous.
when was the Z ever supercharged? they should twin turbo it.. vr30 New 300zx and make it just as sexy as the last one

oil cooler
larger tranny cooler
differential cooler.
without these they WILL fail on the track.
Should add Brake cooler to the list.
Stock brakes are awful

370Z, weight, weight, weight. No attention to detail by Nissan, eg just check all the bolt lengths used and cut off the excess to save a few kg.
