    Very interesting. But, could someone please explain to me why it is the "Royal" Irish Academy?

      What do you mean? We have things like , the royal canal in parts of Ireland, the royal county, the pud the royal meath, we have local sayings/chants like "up the royals", what is the problem with the royal irish academy?
