Awesome video of Michigan Trails. Yes we have a ton of ATV trails here I've ridden primarily routes in my sidexside but I really like hitting some of the ATV trails but only ridden them in the North Missaukee area and a little bit of Atlanta area
You'll have to check out some of the stuff on the other side of the state. We really like playing around the St. Helen area, the Bullgap trail near Mio, but my absolute favorite section has to be the Alcona East ORV section kinda North East of Glennie. Its still part of the Huron National Forest, never super busy, and absolutely, stunningly, beautiful in the fall with the color change.
Fun chase video, I live in Michigan but generally ride the east side trails. Your video is a great representation of Michigan trails for the Country, and the RUclips World! Enjoyed hearing your excitement for the trail early in the loop. Liked!

@@eddiel5189 Hey, good to here from a fellow rider. Illinois is a barren wasteland when it comes to ATV action. The few places in this state to ride are tiny and expensive. I travel a LOT to ride. My typical routine is to take a Friday off work, leave early and drive to a destination, set up camp (or hotel/cabin/etc.) And spend the second half of the day riding. Then spend an entire Saturday riding, then head home Sunday. The best and closest location for you would be the Silverlake Sand Dunes in Mears Michigan. We go one weekend a month all summer. (Pete has recently posted videos of it as well as videos of us racing at a private track near there) Another good option for you would be The Badlands Off-Road park in Attica Indiana. That's close enough to just be a day trip. It's $20 to ride, but the place is huge and has a variety of terrain. Michigan is FULL of great trails. Baldwin trails, Little-O, the Bull Gap system. I enjoy going to a place south of St. Louis called the St. Joe state park. It's a former lead mine that was backfilled with various material as mining occurred. It offers hundreds of marked and numbered trails on a 2000 acre location with camping and you can even ride from camp with trail heads at the campsites. Wisconsin has lots of trails, but they tend to be kind of wide open, high speed gravel trails. (Not my style) Tennessee has a huge selection of trails to offer. It's more rocky and a 4x4 machine is more ideal. Hatfield/McCoy trails are pretty well known. (That's a hell of a drive though) Speaking of a hell of a drive, we hit Little Sahara Oklahoma and rode the dunes down there. That place was epic! But it was a 14 hour drive. But I'd get a few seasons under your belt at Silverlake dunes in Michigan first. I'd love to hear more about what you guys are riding and how old your son is. My son rides with me as well. Heck my whole family of 5 rides. (Just not at every location) Mostly they like the dunes.
I've done a lot of trail riding in various places in Michigan but I too haven't been on Little 'O. There is also big 'O naturally right near it. I haven't been on either of them. If I'm going to go that close to Silver Lake I'd rather go to Silver Lake but I'd go to Luther just to meet up and ride with you. I'm almost 2.5 hours from Luther. I can still ride my side by side on those trails it's exactly 50" but some of them are, as you've seen, pretty tight and the roll cages hits on some of the off camber turns so I can't ride it as fast. My quad is more agile but so hard on fuel it sucks the gas down lol. Unfortunately they are both down at the moment and the sxs is in the shop (won't start.) Hopefully will get them fixed and will be able to go riding with you in September. Also there is a nice app called Polaris Ride Command that has many of those trails on there and allows you to track your ride so there is never a doubt which way you went when you double back. I always have that tracking when I ride. It works for other states too
Your so lucky that your only 2 and a half hours away! I’ve heard of that Polaris ride command app! I’ll download it! Hopefully we can meet in September!
Are you going back to Luther in the fall of 2020. My son would love to meet you and Raptor man and ride the big and little O with a group of people. Do you remember how wide your quad was in the making of this video..... I live in Michigan I'm going to be riding in these trails this year but I have just installed the Alba +2 A arms and 2 inch rear wheel spacers..... I'm at 48 in wide......
I had 1 inch spacers on the front and rear of my raptor when I was on this ride. You should fit it most of the trail at 48. It might get a little tight in a couple spots so just watch your speed 👍
@@PeteHager Right on... Thank you!!! You think you're going to make it up this way to Michigan again this year.... Silver Lake or hit some trails or something?
Hope you see this Pete, worried you will not since this is an older video now. Is there any way to compare and ride with a Grizzly 700? Maybe with similar mods. I am in the market for summer 2021 (has been 20 years since I have ridden), and stuck between these two machines. I think it would be neat to see some drag races just for comparison sake on and off-road with the Grizzly in 4wd. It would also be neat see how well one can keep up with you on a trail like this.
Hey MrWaffles, Thanks for commenting on my videos and watching so many of them! I've actually been curious about the grizzly 700 myself. I rode one several years ago when the power steering first came out and it was definitely a fun machine. It would be fun to compare with one but I so rarely ride/meet with anyone who has a utility quad so i'm not sure when that could happen. I think the best thing for you would be to decide what your mandatory needs are. It will be a lot easier to decide if you narrow down between a sport quad, sport utility, or full blown utility. If i was to get a 4x4 equipped machine I would get a Renegade. I enjoy how they ride and they have endless power. If your set on the utilities then you may want to check out the various comparable models to the grizzly and then make your decision from there. As far as sport quads go its pretty hard to be the fun factor/reliability of a raptor 700
@@PeteHager - Thanks for responding! I love the idea of both machines but have been leaning on the Raptor, to be honest. Perhaps, I will find a used Raptor in good shape and work through one winter and then purchase a Grizzly later down the road. Living in Alaska that Grizzly would make more sense, however, I've always been a bit more a sport quad fan. Used to have a 300 back in the day and my cousin had a 250x.
@@27Zangle If your using the machine mainly for play and 4 wheel drive isn't a necessity then it's going to be hard to beat the reliability and fun factor that comes with the raptor! Hopefully you settle on a plan soon and can find a nice used machine. Theres a lot of great buys out there 👍
It depends on the size of the ATV as well.. Raptor 90 you can't be under the age of 12. But for a Raptor 700 you can't be under the age of 16. Most ATV's over 250cc requires you to be 16.
Love hitting trails when it rains makes it twice as fun sliding around

I had to get 4+1's for the front of mine, to keep them off the sides of the trail. My raptor is 48" also.
So you will go to Michigan, but won't go to Georgia smh 😒😂 😂 I'm just fucking with you man. These are badass. Great vid man
lol thanks man! If anything I want to travel south during the winter to get away from the snow. Duramtown is in Georgia right?? That place is supposed to be sweet!
@@PeteHager yeah. It's great. I'm going back labor day weekend for that raptor rideout
What kinda GoPro do u use thinking of getting one for my Channel for when I ride
I use the Hero 7. My parts and camera gear is always in my video descriptions
My son was wondering if you would ride with him when he gets his 2006 yfz450 on wahkon sooo line
A vid from a year ago he aint readin ur comment
Another one down!!
What kind of rear tire are you running, my stock tires getting close to being replaced, those look more square and wider
hes running GBC Masters and Im running Maxxis Razr XC's.
Repack your exhaust @raptorman....... Nice vid bro!
i never repack, i always just rebuy lol
@@RaptorWRLD lol that can work too
Hope you see this Pete, worried you will not since this is an older video now.
Theres a lot of great buys out there 👍
Bro I think I have watched every video you have made hahah dope ass channel when you coming to San Diego so we can go ride ?
awesome trail, love ur vids
@27:05
Pete - "Hes Got Leaves On His Head!" XD
I live near Luther
@pete could you let me know where this is located by chance
tim ratliff it’s near Baldwin Michigan. About an hour NE of Silver Lake
It would be nice if u can come up to pa n we can go riding up at saint clair
man this was a good video!
Gotta get over for another rip someday! 😁
@@PeteHager I surely hope so!
You should do a GNCC race. They are fun
Sparkey 252 if I get a 450 for racing someday I’ll definitely try one! I need more money to replace stuff that breaks lol
Ive been telling him the same thing haha but its a bit of a drive for him!
Love ur videos. I'm a new subscriber
Darren Prasad thanks for following 😊
@@PeteHager I wanted to ride with you but you live across the United states from me
And also I'm a 13 with a small ATV so it wouldn't work
Darren Prasad maybe someday man 🤟
@@PeteHager I'm getting a new atv
Are 4 wheelers legal to be raided by 14 years old?
That depends on where you live. In the United States it is legal to ride an atv at 14 years old, but not on public roads.
It depends on the size of the ATV as well.. Raptor 90 you can't be under the age of 12. But for a Raptor 700 you can't be under the age of 16. Most ATV's over 250cc requires you to be 16.
Thats cool
Luthers trails can get pretty crowded at times
Here I sit in michigan with no bike surrounded by so many trails. :(
I'm like 60 miles from the little 0
At least you know where to ride when you get one! 👍
@@PeteHager 1year later and I have 13 bikes in my garage! LoL I'm going this season most likely alone.
