Its bizarre to me that people have a spirit summons available and they dont summon. The sign is the developer telling you that the area is annoying and you could do with the help. It baffles me why people want to go solo all the time. And has no one ever heard of a jump attack or a guard counter?
Mentality hasn't progressed past the old souls games for many. The bosses are harder than older games, and there's such huge variety in summons too, such a shame to see people miss all of that to be hardcore.

I want to enjoy my playthroughs (it is a videogame - that is the whole point), not bang my head against a brick wall of a boss for potentially hours on end, especially when there's help - summons - at hand. If you claim that it's 'cheating', fine - YOU don't have to use them. Or do what I do and limit yourself to the more basic, low-tier ones (Rot Pup being a personal favourite). But don't be an asshole and rip me apart or claim that you're somehow 'better' just because you think that being old-school and 'hardcore' somehow makes you superior: the majority of us are not 12-years-old any more - stop acting like you're still in junior high. Summons, and magic, are an integral part of the Elden Ring experience, period. Deal with it, or go play something else because - shocker here - your opinion DOES NOT MATTER. Some people don't for certain things like quicker backstab fishing but she doesn't seem to be good at it and radahn I never tried but I'm willing to bet he can't be backstabed.
As a long time souls player I say that not locking on works best for some enemies. I usually don’t lock on when there is a bigger enemy as it usually creates more issues than solutions in some cases. It’s a boss by boss thing //Girl in the clip

Even FromSoft, and Miyazaki himself, have noted and commented both to and about her. Seriously, watch some of her challenge run videos: running, and beating, two playthroughs at once, beating the game with a dance mat, or with just one hand. She can do things with E.R. that many players find almost impossible to do normally. And to be clear, I'm not defending her just because we're both female, and I'm not simping - although many will no doubt claim that I am. After all, any positive comment about any female, regardless of who it is, is automatically 'simping'. So if you're just another one of a number of people who respond with "But... she's a girl...!" when they hear about her, then continue revelling in your envy and frustration. Hope you're happy and content in your own little swamp.
So if you get stuck and die there is a 70%chance that you loose attribute points compared to your level. Quit the game while hanging and load the game again. Loosing 4 to 5 hitpoints due some bad testing could change the rest of your gameplay

They are brutal some of the boss fights, it’s better to try to level up, weapon leveling, and then come back into it later
