Felt Lovely seeing you playing on my home ground. I have played on this football ground for around 16 years. Thanks for showing the soft and beautiful side of Gilgit Baltistan espacially Skardu.
Subscribed after your TikTok videos, the way you’ve took time to learn some of their language is fantastic and your videos are infectious, looking forward to many more!
@@JackAynsleyTravel why are pakistanis sending you love. Gilgit Baltistan is an autonomous region and it does not represent pakistan. Its people, culture, language everything is different which is accepted by the Pakistani govt and written in the the constitution of Pakistan. I request you to find more about this and at least mention this fact about GB in your next videos. Truth will make your videos even more interesting.
To answer Aynsley’s question: Goats have played an important role in the mountainous north not just as livestock (easier to adapt to lower oxygen and rugged topography than, let’s say, cattle), but also as currency, and a symbol of wealth. But since industrialization, and Pakistan’s republican period, they’re mostly just used for their skin and as livestock, regardless- a trend that follows throughout the country. Specifically in the north, many have thus escaped into the wilderness, since their demand slightly decreased. Nevertheless, they are still raised by locals. Regarding the statues, it’s both one of the national symbols of Baltistan, and also the “Markhor”, a specific type of rare mountain goat, is one of the national emblems of the country. The Markhor is specifically only found in Baltistan, and it’s a protected animal.

Welcome back, Paige. Good to see you back in the vlog. Also the goat statues you saw were probably markhor; which is the national animal of Pakistan. It is found in the mountains
The Goat statues you saw actually is the national animal of Pakistan called “Markhor” (Capra falconeri) which is a Mountain Goat. Found exclusively in Northern Pakistan, in regions like Baltistan, Gilgit and Chitral. There are many species of Rare mountain goats found in this region like Himalayan ibex and Himalayan wild goats. Which are some of the largest goat species.

7:07 there no such special means for having goats. But there is a reason Pakistani people love animals so they keep them at home, but big animals like buffalo or cows need special care and time so people keep goats in their homes because its small animals easy to care ❤ we have at home

I would recommend to visit, the Salt Mountain Range in and around Chakwaal, Kalar Kahar (very beautiful, and the spot where King Babar gave speech to his army before war), Choa Saidan Shah (very beautiful historic town), Khewra Salt Mine (worlds 2nd biggest salt mine)... all these are in close vincinity to each other... there is also a very famous hindu temple, the Katas Raj Temple... this area is loaded for sight seeing and culture.
