Literally me... Been playing the game for 5 years... Started off Extremely Wholesome back when almost everyone was toxic... Then over time... i slowly became the very thing i swore to destroy...

I get frustrated with my gameplay on bad days and then put it down for a bit. I do my best not to be toxic and respond with “Okay.” or “Thanks! No problem!” But my favorite is a simple “lol” when others are being toxic. The only time I’ll What a save! someone is when they are completely toxic all match and then an easy goal is made on them for ball chasing or a dumb decision or mechanical fail, just to prove a point. Anyone else changed their in game chat options to team or off because of toxicity? Honestly, there are good matches and bad ones, good days and bad days. But most truly toxic players I’ve run into are the ones whiffing most, missing saves and blaming teammates. They have the lowest points on both teams and are clearly tilted. Usually the loudest person is the worst in the lobby.
I ran into the most wholesome team, they invited me to a private match and started giving me tips and teaching me advanced mechanics, they even joined my club, made me feel so good.

@@flxwless2178 sounds like you might be a toxic player yourself lol.. but yea, you clearly dont know toxic players, its one thing to have an ego, its another thing entirely to shift blame from yourself onto others.. what a saving someone thats alone in net because you over committed and they miss a save in a 2v1 bump play.. its actually a general rule of thumb that toxic players might have a slight mechanical edge, but the game sense is drastically lacking to them, so overall they are actually sub par to non toxics, this video just reinforced that idea

Might as well share my wholesome game story. Playing some casual duals yesterday for weekly quests. At the start of my last game my opponent kindly asked for help with quests. Helped them get 5 saves and 11 goals then forfeited. They said I made their day, and knowing that made mine. 10/10 wholesome experience, would recommend
I once was being wholesome to a rando who added me and he was TOXIC but I kept complimenting him on literally everything, then he left the dark side…
I was suprised to see a plat and diamond lobby, it must have been a big effort to find 3 wholesome players at that level.
My friend Owen was Jeff Pesos. He is anything but wholesome. He played the part well tho

The thing about toxic teams is they either get worse and worse to the point of completely crumbling in the first couple minutes, at which point there's no coming back, or they get so mad at each other that they think "I'm not losing because of this fking idiot" and proceed to play out of their mind and spam "What A Save" at the end of the match and get a massive ego boost.
That they did not deserve, if you're toxic please go get cured.
I knew being friendly to my teammates and laying off the “What a save!” button would win me more games.
I do that in all my videos. Tell him no problem if he messes up. Make sure to motivate him in the chat etc. check it out, being wholesome really helps

If you can always play a healer in an MMORPG then you can be wholesome in Rocket league.
I'd even heal the baddies if I could, which is why I'm so nice to everyone on the field in Rocket League.
In an mmorpg, the lore often involves the monsters/demons killing the other creatures. You would heal the ones that do that?

Honestly when your mind is clear and calm, you tend to better when playing rocket. Usually being toxic makes you lose focus because you are angry, you gotta be cool and collected, and that’s when you overall make the best decisions.
Every time sunless posts a video before I play rocket league it makes me want to play and I always feel positive even though there's some ssl Smurf in my platinum lobbies :)

Very interesting results. Great vid however I don't know what you told the players sunless but I think that it has the same effect if you tell them at the start to be wholesome/toxic. Maybe sequel video: getting players you played with who are either wholesome/toxic.

Toxicity can really make a wholesome player nervous, which affects his performance. Personal experience
Honestly Sunless is so good at the fake out twist endings that I was expecting him to have edited the chat names and switched them and "oh turns out it was all the toxic people who won"
This argument goes either way for me, some days when I'm toxic I play better bc I get in the other teams head and make them play worse but other days its like eh I just suck anyways
I'd say somewhere inbetween is the sweetspot

Toxic teamates are absolute mouth breathers. You gain nothing putting your own team down. Removing the pressure of making a mistake by being wholesome is way more rewarding to both the player and the team.
This just even further proves that it's never good playing angry and toxic. I know my performance drops quite a bit when I let some toxic chat get to me. It's always best to play any competitive games nice and calm. :)
