The problem last years team ran into was other teams started leaving Josiah and Santi unmarked which put huge pressure on Dalton & Zakai to generate all of this offense either by taking tough shots/ driving the lanes or trying to feed Aidoo or Tobe when it was very crowded in the paint. It feels like Barnes signed guys who would punish the teams who tried to do that. If Santi had even a mediocre shooting season last year this team prob plays for a natty vs UConn. Yes he obv brought defensive attributes but his offense was really rough to watch.
Tha Transfer Portal seems more suited to our UT staff due to the lack of high level HS recruiting results and this staffs' ability to identify the ability of more mature players to fit their system. We have had much lesser results of developing line of scrimmage 5* prospects for years and with this staffs reluctance to play many players at the WR, DB, OL and RB positions we are just more in line with replacing weaknesses at a few positions now that we have a deeper roster. If we never get another 5* at any position other than QB I think we can be successful at the championship level.
