Started playing and the UI and maps were my biggest gripes right away too. But there's something that just makes me wanna play more. Thanks for the review guys!
@@Ninetynine_099 yeah it is hard to familiarize yourself with the areas when all of them look the same and there is so much stuff on the screen that it becomes annoying
Finally it has arrived. Great review very in depth, informative and not shy to talk about the pros and cons. Also knowing how many how's one can get out of it is a nice touch from both angles.
I finished the whole thing including all side missions, it's definitely worth a try. Co-op with friends is nice too but single still is fun, just certain areas and/or missions are definitely easier as duos (or trios) than solo But aside from that, I really liked how they designed the overall backgrounds, how there are differences in each town(?) and the story behind it is simple but written well to enjoy the game with some narration. I didn't expect an overall good storytelling at all, and it was a pleasant surprise to me. Gameplay wise I do agree the UI and map have flaws and could be improved. The action is nice, you need to figure out the dmg types, what kind of aug and nades you want to use, and using cover to strategically maneuver waves of enemies. Overall, great game. I spent around 40 hours to complete every mission and the story quest. I wish there was more! Maybe in the future they'll release more content.
I totally agree with using keyboard rather than controller. Precision is important because sometimes you need to take out a certain enemy first rather than the one closest you.
The game is fantastic. Co-op is a little buggy but it's manageable. My only real beef is the camera system. There is no control. With that aside , 12 ppl created this. How many companies can taught this achievement and it's under $30.00. This is what we've been needing. Quality material, instead of the more regurgitated content. Support this company guys. They have a future!
This games is absolutely incredible! It was sooo worth the buy. Yes it does how a few issues but its nothing u cant look pass. Also give these Developers hella props, i mean just 12 of em! If other studios would put 10% of what these Developers did there AAA games would be so much better! I hope these guys make another game!!!!!
I'm playing it on our Series X and loving it. I still can't believe only 12 people worked on this game. The graphical fidelity, Ray Tracing, particle effects, incredible sound, flexibility of the leveling system, voice work, and gameplay are all top notch. Seriously, this game might be considered a AA game but it easily smokes what passes as AAA titles today. This is Cyberpunk done right... My only complaint I have with the game is the player choice when making a character. It is about as bare bones as one can get with less options than games that came out over 10 years ago. The hairstyles in particular are atrocious giving me only one viable option...no hair. With so much variety on tap here it's very puzzling they chose to go with the character creation they did. Honestly, I think it would have worked better had thry just given us Male & Female options and that's it.

Am only about 4hrs in but i love it so far and it definite has vibes of Diablo mixed with Cyberpunk. Only wished it had Borderlands gun loot drop system but no games are perfect.
i feel how much i was corrupted by all this games as a service BS and endless grinders...because i have problems spending money on something that really will be over after 20h or so, while i am used to spending money on games that keep me entertained for sometimes hundreds of hours. and i believe playing this game for 20h is worth more than playing AC:Valhalla style games for 200h
I'd like to think we do a decent job getting to the real heart of these games. It's the benefit of Livid and myself (Codiak) working together to really flesh out our thoughts without being blinded by our own individual experience. Thanks for the support!
This ascent is the Real CYBERPUNK. Its amazing!! The sounds, world and gameplay are AAA quality. Im still playing it on my xsx but i already want a second game and dlcs. Its that good.
Really enjoying this so far. Enjoying more than Cyberpunk. The attention to detail in the world they have created here is brilliant. Its not just a hollow twin stick shooter. The 12 people who made this game need an award. They also need to make more games. Ill buy them. Im also curious what the budget for this game was. Give these people a huge budget and let the magic happen.
I've really enjoyed this game. And I especially love the world. It's so dense and feels super alive. It really reminds me of star wars. The entire world gives me major mos eisley cantina vibes. Just a big mix of bad guys, races of aliens, bounty hunters, it's definitely kind of scratched the bounty hunter/star wars itch, even though the game isn't really about bounty hunting 🤣
And I've really enjoyed the leveling/abilities, at first it seems pretty shallow, but once you figure out how skills and augments work together you can make some really cool builds
No idea why some people complain about the map. It took me 30 seconds to figure out how to use it properly. Also, I love the menus. The sounds, the visuals, just awesome immersion like everything else. Just the info in some windows is a bit inconvenient and lacking.
Grabbed it on game pass the other day after seeing someone I follow tweet about it being a cyberpunk dungeon crawler and figured since it was “free” I’d give it a shot. I was a little iffy on it for the first hour or two, but came back to it the next day and gave it another go. Then 5 hours passed and I realized I needed to get to bed for work the next day. I’m absolutely loving it. It’s one of the first games in awhile that I don’t turn music/sound down low and put a movie/show on my second monitor while playing. The atmosphere, the music, the world design, all of it is great. It absolutely has its issues (why the fuck can we not put map waypoints!?”) and I’ve encountered a couple bugs, but man… my time with it so far has been absolutely fantastic.
Watch the vid, but I can tell you it’s 100% worth your time and money. There are some bugs, but they’re minor. Aesthetically amazing, great system, original skills, and just plain fun.
Just started playing the other day (it was on sale) And I 100% agree with this. I actually got stuck on a mech boss because i dont have any upgraded energy weapons. and I am vulnerable to fire. So I have to fix all that before I can go further.
Bought this on PS4 to play with some buddies. I am shocked at how fast it hooked me. I love RPGs but a lot of them are one and done in terms of playthroughs. I'm excited to play this single and multiplayer
This game is short, and left me wanting so so much more. Like I just want to dive head first into the world and explore all of it’s nooks and crannies. It’s that good of a game.
Glad every one likes. My experience very different, missions bug out leading me in circles and to dead ends, defo not game of the year for me.waisting hours running in circles accomplishing nothing,is not fun

Yeah this game is dope. Last isometric game i played was Diablo 2. This is such a beautiful puece of work. Yess the map and menus are a bit clunky. But honestly those are the only small issues really. I love and thanks for the review
I bought this game on PC and Xbox One separately. (Original Launch version) I can tell you that i really enjoy the game. I have played through the game on both platforms. I do need to point out one harsh critique. Texture & mesh loading on XBox One, particularly during multiplayer, is problemattic at best. Meshes are not loaded with priority so when you swap areas (via elevator), You appear floating in the air, with background objects loading in first. So you have no ground, this leads to weird defects, like enemies and your character falling through the floor and then suddenly teleporting back up. During online multiplayer, this seems to be even worse, taking up to few mins to actually load the level, which can lead to disasterous results if your teammates don't wait for you. I feel like this could be fixed/reduced dramatically if foreground/proximal models were loaded first. That being said, once the level loaded, the game performed well even on original XBox One, with a few common MP issues like dropped connections.
The game is fun, multiplayer is EXTRA jank but still worth play.. whether you buy or gamepass you're time will be well spent... PROTIP: if you use the robot to pick up things from your abilities, only YOU get the item in co-op (unlike when you pick it up everybody gets the item)
Nothing but positive reviews. love it!! as a big cyberpunk fan I can’t wait to play, downloading on game pass rn.. but of course today my internet had to be super fucking slow so I won’t be able to play till tmr!!! REGRET NOT PREOADING :(
I'm just hoping for there to be more to this world. It was incredibly fun and damn interesting. First game in a minute that had me enticed from start to end.
Thanks for this video! I've pre-ordered the game and now I can't even wait one last day to get my hands on it. This somehow reminds me of the old "Crusader" games, which is awesome to me.
So many coop issues on series x. It's a shame and lets it down massively. Wouldn't say its anywhere near a GOTY contender. I'm 6 hours in. It's alright. Looks great. Sounds good. Needs some patches. The map is terrible and needs work. With time this will be a solid game. I think they needed more time with this one.
Great game, great review! though you said that the game does not have difficulty settings but it does. You can change it in the settings menu in the gameplay menu :)
@@syrales5539 Don't know, but it looks like a nice simple game with limited viewing angle and samey oversaturated environments. Stuff like that shines on mobile. I think it's a bit too simple for a pc game.
@@SnakeEngine well, its not a complex game, but those oversaturated environments are definitely more pc standard than mobile imo. i think it looks sick, id even say its art.

DOPE GAME SUPPORT IT. Only thing I wish they did better was the matchmaking. A fantastic solo experience that i imagine would be iconic if they added in better coop, horde modes, maybe some pvp, ctf etc
I picked this game pretty much at random as I was looking for some sci-fi rpg. I don't love isometric cameras and I almost decided against playing it. Boy am I glad I didn't, I had such a great time with this game and I almost got the platinum.
man it's good but I am completely stuck right now where I kinda feel like I just have to bail on the game. I get killed within like 30 seconds of every load at the place I am at. So annoying.
Great environment to run around in but so many frustrating issues been led to dead ends or no way to get to objective on side missions vendors are pointless nothing to spend money on
wish they would put you in first person sometimes and did more of the camera change angles because the world is so asthetically amazing , and yes the map is really annoying and you can’t put down a marker
It's alright. It's satisfying to clear enemy spawns. AI is decent. Music adds a nice touch. Guns sound like guns! Environment is nicely detailed. Didn't care much for the plot. Very limited loot & buggy are the main issues for me. 20 hours in with 3 friends & we all have exactly the same loot which is how the co-op system works. Differences is only preferred gun upgrades which only increases dps :/. While the skill tree, aug & tactical features add minor diversity amongst our group, but overall we all feel like we are the same character.
@@mdouet It's not. Isometric ≠ Diablo. Diablo is about killing monsters to find cool new gear. By the looks of things, this game has none of that. So I think it stands to reason that it should be more compared to a standard rpg that happens to have an isometric camera angle.
20 hours in 3 of us online coop. All have the same armor, guns etc lol. Even with aug/tactical & skill tree kinda feels like we are the same character :(
If only GEARS TACTICS were a twin stick shooter, like The Ascent, instead of the graphically gorgeous, yet immensely unfun turn based snoozefest strategy RPGs it is.
Thanks for this. Wasnt going to do a walkthrough because first hour was well dull but seeing what more of the game looks like I think another shot is deserved

man it's good but I am completely stuck right now where I kinda feel like I just have to bail on the game. I get killed within like 30 seconds of every load at the place I am at. So annoying.
get to another place and git good then
Great environment to run around in but so many frustrating issues been led to dead ends or no way to get to objective on side missions vendors are pointless nothing to spend money on
wish they would put you in first person sometimes and did more of the camera change angles because the world is so asthetically amazing , and yes the map is really annoying and you can’t put down a marker
Currently on sale on the Playstation store...picking it up!
Would like to see an order of cyberdeck upgrades. Watched a few vids on this and i cant seem to get some of them bc of the lack of upgrades
I hate that the game has been labeled with the Diablo tag when there is nothing regarding any kind of loot grind in it.
It's isometric RPG, so it's a reasonable comparison.
@@mdouet It's not. Isometric ≠ Diablo. Diablo is about killing monsters to find cool new gear. By the looks of things, this game has none of that. So I think it stands to reason that it should be more compared to a standard rpg that happens to have an isometric camera angle.
@@paradisium3799 it has loot to get that drops new areas can drop new stuff. Play the game
@@dantwosecstudio so they were lying when they said that the guns were all static items with fixed stats tailored to the gameplay?
20 hours in 3 of us online coop. All have the same armor, guns etc lol. Even with aug/tactical & skill tree kinda feels like we are the same character :(
The BEST game!
If only GEARS TACTICS were a twin stick shooter, like The Ascent, instead of the graphically gorgeous, yet immensely unfun turn based snoozefest strategy RPGs it is.
Picked it up on steam I really enjoyed it for 20 bucks was also some good shooting with a friend in co-op
Thanks for this. Wasnt going to do a walkthrough because first hour was well dull but seeing what more of the game looks like I think another shot is deserved
