My Dad brought one home from WWII. He got it off an Italian prisoner. We used to shoot it all the time when I was a kid-fond memories. I loved that pistol. My father sold it much to my disappointment. It was pristine and he even had the original holster. I'd love to get one again to relive the memories.

I just found one from 1941 in my grandfathers house, probably belonging to his father or one of his brothers who were partisans during WW2. I'm talking with a guy who knows these thing inside and out, to see if we can get ut operational again.

I picked one up a few years back. 1941 stamped 100% reliable. I've ran 2,000 rounds through it & yes trust me you want one 😀

I own one of these, got it from my dad and he got it from a WW2 vet. It is a beautiful pistol and I never had a problem with it. Only thing is: it throws the cartriges straight back, so keep a cap on or with bad luck a spent one lands directly in your collar

I have one of these that my dad brought back from WW 2. The soldier he took it from no longer needed it, if you know what I mean.

The "RE" stamp for the Army , "RM" for Navy etc... are not on the slide as stated. Those stamps are located on the left side of the frame, just above the grip and below the hammer.

Great old pistols but I'm partial to many of the early ones, snappy little things

I own 3 direct descendants of the 1934 pistol. They are model 948 in 22LR

I had one of these in .380 in the early 90s. Sold it for $50 gas money so my ex-wife and I could drive from Utah to SoCal and back for Thanksgiving with her parents. A statement about gun prices and gas prices. I miss that gun, but not that wife.

The Beretta shown in the video appears to be a Romanian contract pistol. It says 9 scurt on the side instead of 9 corto. It also has 1941 and no Roman numerals on the slide. Also a possible indication that it was made for the Romanian military.

The Romanian numerals are to indicate the Fascist "Era"=year since foundation of Fascism. Noticeable fact is that US-airborne Div. M.Taylor used it: as his own self-defefence-gun.

🇫🇮 Mil and Guard used them , also Police, Correction’s , etc.
    Purchased early WW 2.
Mil even issued it to courieroffier’s in early 2000’s😉

Is there any reson the last letter of the serial number on the upper would be reversed. Mine ends in a C and on the upper it is backwards. On the lower is is as expected.

Hi. VERY nice and detailed video! I've been trying to figure out some more information on one of these. I've had a very difficult time with finding out exactly what type of Beretta 1934 380 it is. It is the Beretta 1934 but it is Nickel or Chrome with PB on the Black grips. It has the following engraved on left side " P. Beretta Cal. 9 Corto-M-1934-Brevet Gardone V.T. 1942 XX " BG on side of mag release. RE below the hammer. This pistol is in excellent condition too. I just can't find any good information on it. It's definitely not the standard 1934 and it doesn't have gold engraving so I get conflicting information about it and its value. If you or anyone knows more about it, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Correction: Stamp proofs are on the frame, typically behind the trigger on the left side or rear left tang. They ceased production in 1967.

Is the reason one doesn't find newer production models in the US due to the ATF point system imposed in the late 60's?
