Wow, you're so lucky! I wish I had gotten to see him live. Elliott's music has made me feel a lot better this past year. I feel bad I hadn't gotten into his music much earlier. He was a beautiful performer.
The silence of love as the chords started for Pitseleh are so overwhelming you can feel the emotion. He was loved, if only it had helped. You were lucky to see him.
It's a bit of a shame the last note is cut off. But oh well. This is the cleanest Elliott's ever played at a live show, and it's really beautiful. Not that his other performances aren't, but this one especially.
I love this song so much. I just got out of a hard relationship. I can relate so much to the lyrics "I could never be the puzzle pieces", and "They say that god makes problems, just to see what you can stand, before you do as the devil pleases, give up that thing you love, but no one deserves it" I love Elliott. May he RIP.
i made a mix cd for a guy at work. it had a lot of elliott smith on it. the guy said all the music was really depressing and said no wonder youre depressed all the time. i hate closed minded people like that. whatever, i hope he continues listening to good charlotte.
I was at this show also.. I remember thinking wow he playing all those guitar parts at once and his voice is angelic. I saw him many times. This was special
for all the mess ups and him saying he was loosing his voice, this may be one of my favorite live song ever performed by elliott!!! his voice sounds so beautiful
The community of Elliot smith fans makes me feel a connection that words can hardy describe. I come to his music sometimes at my lowest points in life, and seeing how many people do the same is a stark reminder that I’m not as alone in this world as I’d like to think. Thank you for your music Elliot and thank you to all the people who take the time to read this.
@@LynnSanders-g9u Thank you for reminding me of this melodramatic RUclips comment! 15 years ago is almost half my life, so I find it find it funny and a little endearing. Never too late indeed.
@@TrevorCrown Of course! Thank you for responding to my response! 😅 And you'r right, it is a funny thing, perspective paired with time...I think it's wonderful you can see the endearing twist of that! Something I personally find really funny, is in a song I loved two years ago: 'Dying Is A Beautiful Thing To Do'-which is not nearly as sad as the title suggests...is that the opening line mentions how she likes Elliott Smith, and I remember always wondering 'who is that?' but never looked it up. Then of course, I find his Music about five days ago and it finally clicks that I've heard that name before! But I was meant to find him now. 🫀
goddamn it’s so scary how quiet people got. I guess it should make someone feel less alone, but it makes me think other people feel like me and that sucks. I would have done a lot to see him though even if it’d be scary.
@roark0806 it makes me wonder how many of us discovered Elliott so much later and now watch his ghost wondering what it would have been like to have been there.
I had a dream that Elliott sang at a house party I threw, so in that case you would have to say that his soul lives on....let go of all religions and preconceptions...this mans "soul" will drift forever

Elliott was super depressed. But people make the best music when they are feeling something, if he was making bullshit songs that didn't make people feel anything he would be forgotten already like 99 percent of the bands from the past decades. Elliott kicks ass!
I was at this show. The thing I remember, above everything else, was how intricate his guitar playing was, and how completely the audience adored him.

@@khairulridzuan6286 she probably does. he's not alive to get cancelled for anything - not that he would if he were
@@will6176 Yeah you absolutely right.
His best tune don't care wut any fans say
Elliott himself finds this song rather plain and boring. I love it but just sayin
Elliott you have helped me through so many times

Pitseleh makes your heart break and your soul hope to find that kind of love again. A real legend.
Can't help but enjoy his reactions/conversations/attitude towards the crowd.
Even through the 2007 youtube compression this song is still amazing.
Love hearing the piano solo played on the guitar
he played pisteleh perfectly!!
it was destined to be the encore IMO!!
MISS U ELLIOTT!! XO
Such a warm song manages to make me feel cold inside every time I hear it.

sweet jesus he was a sad sad man.
I don't think anyone (including the blues artists) has ever expressed themselves as eloquently. I nearly cried.
Underrated guitarist!
Love you, Elliott.
I'm really glad he picked Pitseleh over Miss Misery
heartbreaking to watch and endlessly beautiful.
"MISS MISERY PLEASE!!!" hahahah
My favorite song
He is so amazing. 🥀
Such a great track. Makes me sad but feels nice to be sad at the same time. Fills me with wistful melancholy.
SUCH A BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect voice, perfect song ♥
the audience annoyed me at the start, elliott smith was a genius! thanks for all these vids!

The audience keeps hollering around 2:10 and when he starts strumming round 2:15;
silence.
=)
genericsavings so true! Seems like the crowd respected him deeply, mostly.
The brightest lights burn out the quickest.
it must have been cool for Elliot to play here being a Bob Dylan fan cuz i think this is where Dylan had his first public show.
perfect lyrics, love them a lot

I really like how everyone claps and cheers for him when he coughs. Idk why he thought he wasnt loved

no one will ever know why elliott thought everyone didnt like him and why he was the way he was. it was going on inside his own head.

Lol why does it look like he’s at a high school talent show?
Jesus, listen to the crowd :O

I mean what is he saying in the very beginning? :)
What is he saying?
What now?
what's "pitseleh"?
Its jiddish, and yes, little girl
