For anyone that doesn't know, outlast contracts are still amazing, if you leave the area after getting to about 90% it will keep spawning zombies i was able to get to 1200 kills in about 20 mins so anyone going for levelling or 250 kills its super fast
Back in Bo3 I was genuinely trying to get all the camos just to get them. One of my favorite memories in playing video games was seeing the Dark Matter camo pop up on my screen. Nostalgia 🎆
Also for Serpertinite and Zircon Scale Camo, if you are early in on the grind I would suggest looking at wall buy weapons and hit the mystery box cause you can unlock more than 2 camos in a single game. It gets worse near the end of the grind cause the weapon pool you need to get camos for becomes smaller with a larger pool of overall weapons. Can reduce what would take 18 matches down to like 8-10 matches. Can easily get 4-5 guns done in a match solo.
5 serpentinite challenges away from Borealis. Got interstellar around Thanksgiving. The Borealis grind isn’t hard but it’s so TEDIOUS haha it’s taken sooo long. Edit: I got it! Burnt out is an understatement. I did my last 8 zircon scales as well as all 36 serpentinite challenges in under 24 hours

I feel like the dev teams don't do the whole secret camo deal any more is because the community just data mines and leaks everything and that takes the fun out if it for the dev team
IMO I find it sad how people are looking at Cod as a glorified time waster… AND IT IS! These MW2023 devs haven’t stopped talking about playtime/engagement. And these camo grinds are prime example, get 1 interesting camo in exchange of being a NO LIFE. Call me crazy but I preferred when Gold was the ultimate camo and games focused on fun instead of being psychologically manipulative.
IMO I think they should also let you put MWII Zombie mastery camos on to MWIII guns. I really like the MWII Zombies mastery camos, I just spent a year using MWII guns, I don't wanna use them again, There is very little incentive for me to go for Bioluminescent
I’m ngl i love the whole multiple mastery camo system. Usually with just one im done with the game in a month or so. Top Tip if your grinding camo’s for any Burst fire or Semi Automatic weapons, Go to settings, Go to Controller, Then the Gameplay submenu, scroll down to Combat Behaviours, at the bottom of this list you will see Manual Fire Behaviour, change this to Hold. Any Semi-Automatic will now tap fire and burst fire, it will have a slight delay and it’s a slower fire rate but man does it save your digits. You can set the same on M&K, you go to Combat Advanced Settings at the bottom of the Combat behaviours list, and you will see Manual Fire Behaviour too.
Escort contracts are also extremely good for zombie kills and special’s because I believe about 10 manglers spawn when you do it at least in the tier 1 zone
After finishing 2 guns i would grind zone 2 contracts for the rest of the time for a chance to get a crystal for next round , use crystal on one weapon and after finishing the 300pack kills with that weapon you have enough essence to pack your second weapon.for serpentite use a good and a bad gun ,shoot manglers low with good gun ,finish them with the bad gun
So in my experience, to get zircon scales it takes about 3 or 4 tier one exfil, or about 10 minuets of an outlast, I've gotten the handguns and snipers all in one day each doing them
Day 2 of working on Bioluminescent for my MWII weapons. 26 Golden Ivory's and 8 Spinal Husk's. I really enjoyed the Borealis grind so much that I just kept going and now doing the Bioluminescent grind. No breathing, no stopping! Just constant fun!
I think there should be an extra camo for doing both Interstellar and Borealis. Or like complete both, plus one of the charms or both charms and you get a super camo. IW had similar where there was dark matter, but if you got that and did the retro weapons you got solar.
I remember when there were secret challenges that had hidden requirements to unlock until you unlocked them and have you a cool animated calling card. I want those back

Bioluminescent isnt THAT bad if you have all the weapons max, which M3RK does, because you can knock out all base camos in one deployment and unlock the gold camo to add onto it for 2 weapons at a time! The only downside is some require specific weapon ammo type mods and if you are on cooldown for the crafting of said mod, you either gotta go do a different weapon that doesnt need it, or try to find the mod in-game, which would slow you down since youd be looking for one specific mod out of the many
you can progress the multiplayer camos in warzone but it takes FOREVER, zombies is not progress able because there are no zombies in warzone (no, the haunting event does not count)
The flawless crystal schematic only drops from the red worm boss fight and its a 1/3 chance to get the crystal, scorcher or the legendary tool schematic
i have personally grinded each mastery camo in mw2 and mw3 and I feel like after all that I deserve to have at a least a calling card or something for putting in all that time to show off other than just the camos themselves, just like in BO3 and such we got calling cards for putting in all that time for getting dark matter
all they gotta do is give us the ability to add any mastery camo we unlock to any gun regardless if its a MW2 gun or MW3 gun but only if u unlock all 4 mastery camos.

Yea honestly it’s really easy once you finish the 36x 4x base camo challenges. I would recommend unlocking a second weapon slot by completing act 1 first then doing two weapons at a time and writing down the base camo challenges for each weapon and bringing in the necessary ammo mods for those challenges. After the base challeneges you just have to do the packapunch x300 kills x 36. Which can be a drag but once you pass that you literally just have to farm elite zombies at exfil x 10 for each of the 36 guns. Which is surprisingly easy and fast. It is a lot of grinding though, I highly recommend you break it up over several weeks like do assault rifles and subs one week then shotguns and pistols the next etc..
Would it be better if the mastery camps were hidden so people could see it until it was unlocked, for instance we could have known there was a mastery camo but did know what it was

Definitely one of the most time consuming camo grinds ever but I like the challenges that you need to complete. Getting 100 mp headshots and long shots with every single gun is a complete nightmare
I would rather have the headshot+5 camo challenges back from older CoDs than the chore list we have nowadays. Even MW19 and BOCW did a great job with them. Camo grinding have become way too easy since MW22 sadly.
How did you do the dm56? The challenge to get 250 kills with 5 attachments isn’t tracking at all for me. I’ve tried every attachment combination and it won’t track for me. Help please 😅😅😅

Nah, MW2 was harder. Some camo challenges are difficult like longshots with the sidewinder but most of the challenges are moderately hard and can be done in less than five matches. MW2 made you do longshots for every gun in the game. The smg category could basically only be done in hardcore and in general, you had to camp in specific parts of the map in order to achieve it.

I like bioluminescent on the mw2 guns better but the camo challenges for them are broken at least they are for me right now and you can't get any of the challenges done
I really don't care for the new MW3, but I still deeply enjoy Merk's vids and how helpful he is in giving tips and advice to people who are either in the middle of, or just starting their grinds. I just wish the rest of the game was enjoyable.

I also noticed the DG 56 conversion kit removed the borealis part of the borealis camo but I still kinda like how it looks because its so weird lmao

I got the Interstellar camo: took me 2 and a half weeks. Then started grinding for the Borealis: took me 10 days to get. It’s definitely worth it 👍

congrats merk on getting borealis, i finished my grind a day before season 1 and in my opinion borealis is worth it

For pap 1 crystals, I found two, even at times 3 in tier 2 infested strongholds. Save them for zircon scale.

My tip five was just writing the camo quests on a sticky note and cross them off when it popped up
