  • 3d fashion design software has become super important to the fashion industry, and it's importance just continues to grow. If you are interested in learning more about 3d fashion design software or how to use it, this is a great beginner tutorial to one of the main software being used in the fashion industry today: Browzwear.
    Besides Clo3D, it's one of the main names you'll hear when asked about 3d fashion design software, and it's used by many major companies. And i'm sure that number will only grow. 3d fashion design software skills are definitely on the rise as a 'need to know to work in corporate' so if you are thinking you want to start working in design (apparel or technical) in the fashion industry in the next 3-5 years, aside from Illustrator, 3d fashion will be really helpful to add to you repertoire of skills.
    This tutorial is for anyone just beginning to learn 3D fashion design. It's a simple way for you to start working in the program and seeing how some of the tools work.

      I really like your teaching style and am very interested in taking your class. I am currently a student at Portland Fashion Institute and taking browzwear through them. Would really like to take your class also. How do I find them?

      @@glennaworld Hi, Glenna. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback, and thank you for watching and commenting. I don't have any formal 3D classes yet, but I do have an Illustrator and tech pack class if you're interested. There are links in the description to the Illustrator class, and you can find the tech pack class on my website (link is also in the description).

    Learning Optitex right now and amazed how quick and simple it is to draft patterns. Glad I have a flat pattern foundation, that really helps to draft certain silhouettes.

      Hey, thank you for watching and commenting! I've heard mixed reviews about Optitex, but I've definitely heard (on a positive note) that it's great for flat pattern. And yes, having a foundation in flat pattern really helps for all of these programs. Thanks for the feedback about Optitex.

    hello. Which program is used more for shoe design? What programs do big shoe corporations use? I can design by hand, but I haven't done it on a computer before.

      Honestly, I'm much more familiar with programs that work best for apparel. That said, the software names I've heard the most for footwear were Rhino and Fusion360. (And of course, Illustrator for more 2D work and you can layer in Photoshop for more depth.)

    Is there a way to create "avatars" with custom body shapes and sizes? Will this print out patterns with seam alloances?

    • @383design
      @383design  2 года назад

      Yes to both:) I believe you have to add the seam allowance, but there’s a tool for that.

    Do you know about any free 3D designing software?

    • @383design
      @383design  2 года назад

      Daz3D is free, but I don't know if you can design clothes in that. Haven't used it enough. I'm almost positive you're not going to get a sample or production ready pattern like you would from a program like Browzwear.
