Your review inspired me to buy this San Martin. A beautiful Watch! Got mine yesterday! Holy mackerel! This Dark-Blue dial is insane!!! 5 Stars for your video! EXCELLENT!
I always look forward to your detailed, direct to point and no nonsense reviews. Your voice commands my attention. Your hair cut is always perfect. You could be news reporter. LOL. Keep them coming. Greatly appreciated. All the best.
I owned an earlier version of this watch, I put it on a rubber strap and never unpacked the bracelet - This looks like a nice up grade. Thank you for the review
I’m glad you reviewed this. I’m surprised people aren’t all over it! The outstanding example of its kind I think and the only one with a good bracelet. I’m hoping they do more colours and a bronze version too.
San Martin do make a nice watch, finishing is often very good. The thing that spoils this "almost a Willard" is the minute track being in the wrong place, it makes the dial look too big. I actually bought the black dial version of this but returned it. While it was a well made watch it isn't quite right and if you just want a high quality watch with this interesting case but aren't bothered about it actually being an accurate Captain Willard homage then the Merkur Oceanmaster absolutely blows this away (good luck finding one now though) The Oceanmaster is an exceptionally good Chinese watch, totally unconcerned with replicating the Captain Willard, it is an exercise in watch making excellence. One of the best bezel actions I've felt on any watch regardless of price, beautiful sapphire bezel insert with lume to the 20 minute mark, nice piece of sapphire crystal with dome and subtle AR coating, with just a hint of blue visible on the chamfered edge. Deep black dial (MM 300 style) with applied high polished indexes and crisp white lume, framed date window, frosted steel Merkur logo and beautiful old Tuna-esque handset, very finely brushed with the white needle seconds hand with a lumed counterweight. The crown operates with silky smooth and has a red warning collar so you can see instantly that it's unscrewed. The case has exceptional finishing with a nice high polished chamfer separating the polished and brushed sections. The case back has a beautiful 3D turtle adornment. The dial is highly legible under all lighting conditions and has excellent quality lume C3 I believe, it is bright and has excellent longevity except for the sapphire bezel insert which is good but fades before the dial and hands, the 12 o'clock triangle lasts longer than the numbers simply because there's a greater quantity of lume present. Powered by the customary NH35 with a black date wheel, for very respectable accuracy and robustness and supplied on a very soft FKM rubber waffle pattern with a concertina section. Outstanding.
Nicely done review, I think these are great value watches, I have their older one on the silicone but glad to see they've made some improvements to make it better.
Nice watch, but a watch is its movement. The NH35 is a great movement, but when you can get an Addiesdive Willard for under $100 with the same movement, there is very little reason to pay double for this one.
Thanks for sharing! Coincidentally I made a comparison video between the two 🙂 here: ruclips.net/video/nBy27spr4Mw/видео.html if you are curious. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
This is a great review! I am thinking to purchase my first San Martin watch. Perhaps this one is too big. I am looking for a more discreet diver’s. Which one is your favorite that you would recommend?

Love to see a head to head with your Steeldive Willard, bracelet looks better but is it worth over twice the price…
Thanks for the review. This one looks to be built over and above the Seiko. Clear AR, capped pinion, lume, bracelet and clasp. WOW

My new watch a birthday present for myself, got the turtle because of unique style.
This wouldve been perfect if it was 42mm and shorter l2l. Maybe SM will revise the flaws in a v2 hopefully
I was really expecting a review from this model. Great video!!! I am thinking about buying it. Thanks bro!!!

Agree. They do have a bronze one and it is really good I still got it in my collection 12 months later.

@@ShinyThings you’re welcome!
San Martin has a better exterior finish, which is why they are more expensive
