Yana is the very definition of rhythmic gymnastics
This routine from Yana's first major competition will always be very nostalgic. This is a postcard from wonderful past, something to cherish, to remember, to feel sad that it will never happen again. We will never see Yana perform. But we will always watch this routine.

She still has rooms for improvement, but her ribbon form has improved a lot since her last competition. And she has been constantly improving within this year. I hope she will have good health and see her in rio.
OMG HOW COULD SHE DID THAT SO PERFECT
Proud of Yana for keeping it together though the AA, and I am quite smitten with her ribbon and ball routine (though I don't share the same enthusiasm for hoop and clubs). I would have been happy to see any one of the podium girls take the gold. A tough choice and good fight by Meli, Ganna, and Yana!
I am happy her ribbon has improved :). She is promising.

Yana has great technique. she just needs to draw more complex ribbon patterns, that will come with age and more experience, she is still very young only 15 years old.

But the problem with Mamun is that it doesn't matter if she does three shapes and a thousand turns. With her body technique, they shouldn't be counted.
Mamun's routines are excellent, but the gymnast isn't.

This is a perfect example of why I'm am opposed to the use of songs for routines:
Jana was brilliant, the French song is beautiful and the choreography matched it, but I was distracted by the beautifully resonant voice of the French singer and found it hard to concentrate on the routine which, at the end of the day, should be the focus of the performance as a whole.
I had no problem with it.
Would you prefer routines without songs? Because I can't see where you're going with it. Music completes the routine, it's a part of it. I had no problem with the music, because it's Yana's routine and Yana is all I see. But the music is all I hear and they create and unforgettable routine

A song - that is a piece of music with human singing - is distracting.
I didn't think I'd need to explain the difference.
@@idraote A person singing creates music too, and in my opinion it's much more impressive than some instruments. There is no instrument better than voice strings. And it doesn't distract. I really can't imagine how it's possible. If a gymnast wants a song with an actual human being singing, she should perform to it.

yes you're right, but meanwhile she does a 0.5 difficulty Mamun conects 0.3 x 3 it means .9 difficulties, or connected pivots from Rizatdinova, and Staniouta.....In words of me and Irina Deriguina Rita Mamun's programm is much more interesting :) just IMO, at the end of the day she's the world champion and i wont change that

Yep, for this new CoP (and I think this year is considered the trial run phase) a gymnast is allowed one routine with lyrics, of course with the usual, the lyrics must aid the routine artistically, blah, blah, blah
That is not going to work. What are they going to do? Unfairly lower the value of difficult elements? Even if they do that difficult elements will still have a higher value than the easy ones. Also, if they make execution more strict the Russians will likely pay more attention to it as well. I don't really see how anyone can actually defeat Russia even with all those changes. The only way to do it is train like the Russians or if Russia stops investing in this sport.

LOW!! my goodness, she draws so poorly, at the end of the routine the ribbon was too close to her, she does not do any "expensive" body difficult, her leaps are so unstretched and low height.....not to mention the lack of expression throughout her whole program
