    Rick James was a motherfuckin "Rock Star" there will never be another one like him. The emotion that this song brings out of me says it all. One of the best that ever did it period.

    The emotions in these vocals is unequaled. That is what always made thsi song stand out to me - that and the female snips here and there - and Smokey telling us "Tell Us How You Feel Rick!" Amen!!!

    I was about 12 when this came out in 84 but never forgot them days.I hate the way music has changed to everything up-beat.
    Im just glad I caught the tale end of real music.

    When I first heard Rick James sing "Mary Jane" back in '78 I thought "This guy is a one hit wonder". Then one dayI took a long drive to Santa Maria and listened to the entire cassette "Come Get It". After that, I got it.

    Love the lyrics of this song and I love the gorgeous jheri curls that they both have. A good jheri curl makes the person look wonderful, and they both look better because of those pristine jheri curls. Love it!

    Anyone in or around the Buffalo area the Stone City Band will be at Buffalo's Funkfest Aug 23, 2008 along with Slave at the LaSalle Park in Buffalo NY. It's been years since you guys have seen Rick's Stone City Band. Let me tell you I have heard these guys play not long ago and you won't be dissapointed The Stone City Band can still bring the funk just as hard today as they did back in the day...

    There was no one cooler than Rick James. And Smokey is too suave. Cool paired with Suave, it's a winning combination. I remember this song coming out in the early 80's when gheri curls were the rage...lol. Incredible song, makes a man miss his woman.

    Rick James just went OFF at 5:13!!!!!!!! For all of you that think he was just a funk man, yeppers, he could actually SING. He had a beautiful voice. Smokey is exquisite as always. They should do more duets like these today. Old and new together. I would love to see Michael Jackson & R. Kelly do a duet.
