  • For Jazz Appreciation Month, Jazzway 6004 presents Latin Grammy nominee César Orozco with his Kamarata quintet on April 27, 2024.
    César Orozco, a prolific Cuban/Venezuelan pianist, composer, and arranger, has made a significant impact on the world of music. His innovative fusion of Venezuelan and Cuban music with jazz has garnered critical acclaim. After spending fourteen years in Venezuela, Mr. Orozco moved to the United States in 2012, where he continues to create captivating compositions and perform with exceptional skill.
    Notably, César Orozco was nominated for the 22nd edition of the Latin Grammys in the category of “Best Arrangement” for his piece titled “Tierra Mestiza,” which serves as the opening number for the musical “America Viva”. His ability to blend Cuban, jazz, and Venezuelan musical elements has drawn praise from renowned musicians like Paquito D’Rivera
    César has appeared in more than 70 albums and his recordings as a leader include “Son con Pajarillo” (2007), “Ebano y Marfil” (2008), “Orozcojam” (Guataca, 2010 & Cubadisco Award Winner 2012), “No Limits for Tumbao” (Alfi Records, 2015), “Stringwise”, (2019), a duo with the outstanding Venezuelan Cuatro player Jorge Glem, and the latest one, "Rooted Forward" (2020).
    César is joined by Gabriel Vivas on Electric Bass, Pablo Bencid on Drums, Francisco Vielma on Percussion and Jan Kus on Tenor and Soprano Saxophones.
