@@rstscott 100 % however id say the same thing can be said about a hair transplant. Anyone who knows what a hair transplant is can tell when someone has gotten it. I think with these surgeries/treatments its only people who are oblivious to them that dont know but people who have done research on this stuff can ALWAYS tell. Always. That being said it still looks better on most people than being bald.
Looks quality mate and thanks for having the balls to give some guidance to other men who are considering this. There are so many youtubers who spend ages waffling and never giving any real answers. Honestly that is so natural looking, you really could've said nothing and no one would have ever known; apart from those who already know you but you chose to help others; God bless you and yours mate fair play to you.
Makes sense that this dude has also made videos about trying steroids and being depressed. Getting a tattoo of hair on your scalp is an activity reserved for only the most insecure and narcissistic people of our society - so of course one would also hate ones body and are depressed too. Not to mention it's an awful solution to what is clearly not your issue...

I got SMP done a few years back, at first I was happy with it but now I’m very conscious about it for some reason, my wife really likes it though and it has made me look younger by a few years, I couldn’t have a hair transplant carried out as they said the existing hair is too weak.
Because sometimes when I look at it it seems obvious in certain areas and unfortunately makes me a bit paranoid to the point I wear a cap a lot of the time.
@comedygold1278 literally what I am worried about. Thinking of doing SMP, I am OK with the balding how I look but I'd worry about suddenly becoming self conscious lol
Unfortunately it is easy to spot when I see a guy with smp. The reason it looks okay in most videos is because the subject often shoots the video under strategic lighting. Try looking at an smo under florescent office lighting or daylight. The shine off the scalp makes it so obvious.
Great choice! Plus you have a head for it. Once you do a hair transplant, you're simply moving hair out of the back of your head permanently. Plus, there's zero guarantee it will work.
Great video, I have Skalptec on my to do list, but up until then I'm using Mane hair thickening spray to conceal my thinning hairline. Thanks for sharing :)
Hey dude, thanks for this! Im very pale and blonde with blonde eyebrows, a beard is the only thing making me look less of an egg. I suppose this wont work for fair haired guys as a dark scalp and ginger beard just wont work? Do they do lighter colours? Or is that not a thing?
Yeah they do but you’re better off just getting darker pigments, after all, you’ll be shaving it off anyway? Could be an opportunity to adopt a new look 😎
After SMP, do they have to maintain a certain hair length or can they razor/foil shave the scalp? Wondering about imbalance of tattooed skin next to areas of hair growth. Can’t make sense of it at the moment. From far away they all look good but if you’re face to face with someone and you’re looking at half tattoo on skin and half clippered length hair especially on the temple/sides like I have, it must surely look weird and obviously fake.
Thanks for the insight! Considering getting this done. Quick question, as I've never actually seen someone in person with SMP, do people ever notice it? As in, notice that its not actually hair? Cheers
Greetings from NYC....question you said you still shave your head but if you didn't would the hair that still grows on your head make it look fuller like a ceaser style cut
Im a very good looking guy, but my confidence was shakened when started balding. I got tired of hiding my head with hats and being afraid to approach and go with women because of my baldness. I got my Smp back in 2018, one of the best investments I've ever did. Ive gained my confidence back afterwards.... no more hats!
Hey man, looks really good 👍 I've also had smp for a while; love the convenience etc! In terms of tanning, as you can't let your scalp burn, do you use like self tanning lotion so it's not as pale?
Had it done years ago, similar to yours looks OK in the dim lit rooms like the settings u ALWAYS film in, completely invisible under medium to bright lighting especially sunlight. Not worth it, bit of a scam
Hey Josh, did I get that right? in this video is your hair pigmentation about 3 years old? And you only did 4 sessions as a basis in the 3 years? No touch up? Because it looks very good for 3 years. Best wishes
I have been looking into this but my main concern is that your head will still be shiny in the sun and look strange. Obviously, when you have actual stubble on your head, there is no shine but wouldn't it still be shiny with SMP?
Milk of magnesia works awesome for no shine, without it my heads super shiny. I also have to shave daily so no one notices which becomes a pain. Personally I've ended up being just as paranoid as I was losing my hair, find myself wearing a baseball cap.
My dad went bald at 17, so I was on a white knuckle ride through high school/college. I still have hair, but it's pretty crummy so I shave it. At this point having to deal with hair seems not worth the trouble. Turns out being bald is working for me.
Hey, I really appreciate this video. You look like a pretty tan guy, and I’ve heard that sun exposure will cause SMP to fade or go away. Do you get a good amount of sun on your head? Looks awesome!
looks great, I'm 47 so I've sort of given up a bit now but this has me thinking twice
Do it, but get Terry at Skalptec to do it as he's hands down the best!

Under different light conditions it becomes more or less apparent. They need to perfect a color matching process similar to how they analyze paint to match the color.
Agreed, it’s also how the light reflects off the bald scalp vs hair follicles
If done correctly it will match.

I would travel to UK for this for the issue of having to have 3 sessions and taking upwards of 15 days is not possible right now :(
You can get moisturisers that mask the shine. With that said, if you go to a decent artist, noone will know unless you tell them.
Can always tell when someone has had SMP.
I don't know if I've ever saw one done were I've thought that looks natural.
Same here, I’ve seen it in person on multiple people. It just looks like a tattoo.
@@rstscott I saw video there after I made this comment of a guy and his looked fairly natural.
But that was the only one Ive saw, I can remember.
I'd be more insecure about having a f**king tattoo on my head.
Hair savvy studio is brilliant did my SMP and really happy with it.
How do you manage where your hair actually grows?
Can you tell an obvious difference in different light?
@@youlikeitiloveit3747 yeah but you shave it
Makes sense that this dude has also made videos about trying steroids and being depressed. Getting a tattoo of hair on your scalp is an activity reserved for only the most insecure and narcissistic people of our society - so of course one would also hate ones body and are depressed too. Not to mention it's an awful solution to what is clearly not your issue...
Looks great, mate. Cheers!
Thinking of getting this done but I'm in my mid fifties and slightly grey, I'm too scared of it looking unnatural, definitely should've had it done years ago
Nah mate; you can get the “salt and pepper effect” where it’s a mixture of white, grey and black pigments. Terry has had people from all ages in and they always look good.
I had mine done when I was 50 best thing I ever did for myself still to this day I get comments about how good it looks, I have a grey beard but it's not a problem they match the ink very well, get it done seriously it's life changing.
Love the beard my bro! I hope to get to that size also with time💪💪
Thanks man and no doubt you will!
Looks great bro I went for hair system and I like it works for me .. anything better than being bald 👍
Lol😂 love the video but i love how he flip flops im gonna do it but nah not worth it lol😂 i bet this geezer a proper character, must have a good laugh with the boys
I've seen people in real life with SMP, people genuinely think it's not obvious but it's so odd looking in real life
@@jakey4683 no one asked
@@JoshLucaJames Oh sorry you live in the world of speak only when spoken to. I live in the world of "if someone puts their face online and makes a statement I can comment on it whether asked or not". Oh my gosh what an amazing result of SMP 🤙🏻🍀 thats perfect
I got SMP done a few years back, at first I was happy with it but now I’m very conscious about it for some reason, my wife really likes it though and it has made me look younger by a few years, I couldn’t have a hair transplant carried out as they said the existing hair is too weak.
And why might you be conscious of it?
Because sometimes when I look at it it seems obvious in certain areas and unfortunately makes me a bit paranoid to the point I wear a cap a lot of the time.
@comedygold1278 literally what I am worried about. Thinking of doing SMP, I am OK with the balding how I look but I'd worry about suddenly becoming self conscious lol
@@comedygold1278 its so easy to spot SMP guys outside lol😂
Definitely looking at getting this done by Terry in Newcastle. Can i just ask what you shave your head with please as yours looks absolutely spot on!
I just use a foil razor bro but I’m gonna start wet shaving
After SMP, do they have to maintain a certain hair length or can they razor/foil shave the scalp? Wondering about imbalance of tattooed skin next to areas of hair growth. Can’t make sense of it at the moment. From far away they all look good but if you’re face to face with someone and you’re looking at half tattoo on skin and half clippered length hair especially on the temple/sides like I have, it must surely look weird and obviously fake.
Yeah if your natural hair still grows in places you need to shave it every few days
How much did this cost bro really want to get this done your smp treatment looks spot on
Realize he never says how much lol
I have smp 4 sessions for over 2 years and I hate it everyday, im looking for place to get it removed..
Why do you hate it, just not happy with the results?
Where did you get yours done?
Hey bro! Did you get yours done in the UK? If so can you share the clinic please? Thanks for the honestly in this video man!
Yeah bro. Terry from Skalptec.com can’t recommend him enough, based in burscough, north west
@@JoshLucaJames thanks brother 🙏🏼
smp is the best of the hair loss treatments hands down best thing I ever did wished I done it earlier like he says
Im thinking about it..
@Road to Recovery does the sun affect the SMP or you have to wear hats everywhere?
bro can i speak to u on ig?
Thanks for the insight! Considering getting this done. Quick question, as I've never actually seen someone in person with SMP, do people ever notice it? As in, notice that its not actually hair? Cheers
People only know because you either tell them or if they also have smp. Other than that it looks real if you go to a decent technician
I’ve seen SMP on some dudes and in 2D, like a phone vid, pix it good. Now in 3D, right in front of your eyes, it looks like a tattoo.
I wonder if it's ok to get a tan on head after...great job.
Someone probably asked this, but where did you get yours done?
Your beard is amazing, mines quite ok now but it’s not as thick around my mouth area did yours grow in later than 20?
So how can I find out more about Terry really thinking about doing it .....thank you
I'm 57 and never even knew SMP existed until 3 days ago LOL! I'm going for it why not!
Thanks for sharing your story pal
The hardest part of doing it is finding someone who does it. It would be great if any of these videos showed a link to get it done.
Literally made a whole video on who did it bro
how much is the cost bro? and how long is the healing time? Thanks!
Hey, new viewer here from New York, where did you get this done it looks great. I seen other smp’s that look horrible but yours looks totally natural.
I hear you say terry but don’t recall you saying where it’s located.
Hey man, I made a whole video on him called “WHO did my smp” 😀
Got it, watched the video the dude that did your hair is really good one of the best I seen but I’m all the way in New York lol
0:50 *actually 5 options, the 5th being treatments (ie. finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil, RU58841...)
Pfft not on my list. 😂
Poison from big Pharma 🤮
Greetings from NYC....question you said you still shave your head but if you didn't would the hair that still grows on your head make it look fuller like a ceaser style cut
Yep
Looks fantastic man . Epic beard too !
Sunday is my turn. Been wearing hats and beanies for years lmao😊
Aye that’s your opinion bro and I appreciate it
Did u had urs lasered off man?
what a great explanation and gave me a great insight
I don’t want to do SMP on my whole head, i just want to cover a ‘horde shoe’ at the top back, is it possible?
They will do whatever you ask them to do.
Hey Josh, did I get that right? in this video is your hair pigmentation about 3 years old? And you only did 4 sessions as a basis in the 3 years? No touch up? Because it looks very good for 3 years. Best wishes
Had it in 2020 and not touch up this far in.
Nice honest review looks really good
Thank you 🙏
I take minoxidil for my hair loss, but if it ever stops working or I just give up on it, this is what I'll do
I'm not nervous to do it, I just can't afford it. Isn't it like $2000 to $4000?! How much was your SMP? How many sessions did you get?
1800 for 4/5 sessions
Took 10 years off. Not saying looking older is inherently bad but nice to look your age.
My dad went bald at 17, so I was on a white knuckle ride through high school/college. I still have hair, but it's pretty crummy so I shave it. At this point having to deal with hair seems not worth the trouble. Turns out being bald is working for me.
Usually MPB skips a generation though but yeah, good for you man! 👍🏻
Hey, I really appreciate this video. You look like a pretty tan guy, and I’ve heard that sun exposure will cause SMP to fade or go away. Do you get a good amount of sun on your head? Looks awesome!
where did you do your smp? looks so great. I want to go to the same guy
