Thank you and we’ll done, David. I went with D shapes, capo 3 because it was easy to get the intro melody notes in. And thank you for hearing the diminished chord in the last verse - it’s the little things that pop sometimes, right? If I was not playing with piano and violin I would definitely play it open in E shapes as you have here. God bless, brother!
Thank you for this tutorial! But where did you even start to transpose this into the “E” shape? I am really trying to get away from open cowboy chords but I need a direction to start.
Not sure what you mean by "open cowboy chords", but becoming familiar with your basic chords in each key as well as how the capo changes the sounds definitely helps you go wherever you want to!
@@david_c_jacob What I mean by open cowboy chords is your basic chord shape and then using a barre chord for let’s say an F#. So are you using the CAGED system? It just seems like you’re taking it to a whole other level.
This was very helpful! God bless you for this. I've been trying to figure out how to play this song since I have to play it at Church.
Dude! You should do a ton of these acoustic tutorials! This is fantastic! There are plenty of excellent new Getty songs you could show on acoustic…
Very kind of you - thank you!
"two finger A" and the A/C# and B/D# versions of it were supremely helpful. thank you sir

Thanks for this! Trying to figure out how I want to play this... leaning towards Capo 3 D shapes.
That's certainly easier in terms of moving up and down the fretboard!
Thank you!
You're welcome!

Just using music theory knowledge for the capoing and stealing as many chords from others as possible! No exact system per se.
Nice job on the song! what type of metronome are you using. I like the way it counts it out for you.
