i have so much respect for these Senior 4runners still being able to hold it down and to reach the miles more than 200k or so. These things are alot strong than alot of newer rigs. Even the new 5th gens sometimes cant hang. :P but i still got love for them. But the love for these 3rd gens i cant explain. I respect these Senior machines and being so beast, reliable, indestructible, value is to the roof. Reviews on these are all great. Price for maintenance are affordable. and to do it your self it straight to the point. no high tech bs shit haha. I just got my 3rd gen not to long ago and love it. 197k miles. running strong Af.

I want to buy a v4 2.7l 4runner 4x4 is it a good choice or im better with a v6 engine? And i dont tink i will do a lot off road with it its only for canadian snow (ps sorry for my english;)
3rz with a manual transmission is an excellent motor, that doesn't like hills. I've got both the 6 and the 4 at under 200k, both manual 4wd, and the 6 is a LOT more fun pickup wise. The 4, with headers, exhaust and a valve job feels indestructible. I'm also at 7500ft altitude, lifted with 32s and CBI rear bumper, which strains the little motor even more. Still love it.
Hey man! Sick video! Also, I have the some exact roof rack as the green 4runner on my 4runner in this video. Did you happen to know how he attached it to the oem roof rails?
Dang, this was an awesome video! Thanks for sharing! Would anyone recommend buying one of these with around 200k miles and no rust? It seems hard to find any clean ones with less than 200k and not a lot of rust. Please let me know. I'm contemplating between the 3rd and 4th gen's.
Hey Rotimi, I think if well maintained and a few key parts of the car have been changed by 200k then they can still be reliable and great vehicles. I would look into the lower control arms, water pump, timing belt and maybe suspension parts such as bushings need to be replaced around 140k. If that has been done and documented then I would feel confident buying a rust free 4runner with 200k! I just sold mine with 210k. If that maintanance has not been done then youre looking at 500-1500 in parts/labor to replace those before failure. Good Luck

It's an I4 not v4. The 4 cylinder is very good but underpowered. The 6 cylinder is VERY reliable and has enough power for the truck.
@@trumpgang410 get 6 cylinder because it is easier to work on. For example you have to remove the 8 cylinder to replace the starter.
