I met Barry Brown in the early 1990's at Jet Star Records HQ, a nice guy but his story of so much success yet so little reward is a recurring theme in JA reggae music. I remember David Rodigan once interviewing The Abyssinians , back in the late 1970's, on his Reggae Rockers show. He played an Abyssinians track on UK 7", and they had no idea it had been released outside Jamaica !! The film, 'The Harder They Come' tells a similar story from a different angle - Yuh Learn !!!
So much great music has come out of the island of Jamaica, I sometimes wonder, how does so much talent come from one place. I feel that the Jamaican singers and players of instruments, in particular, are truly a gift to this world from the most high and Barry Brown, in my opinion, ranks amongst the greatest of the all time greatest. RIP

One of Jamaica's great singers. This man died poor and destitute after releasing 11 albums countless hits. What happened to the royalties, publishing etc. of this great artist. His music is still played and purchased worldwide who is benefitting from these income streams?
Another example of the injustices inna earth. Scripture says certain people gonna be under curses, due to disobedience to TMH's laws. One big reason why some believe these people at the bottom in the America's are the Israelites. It's a big debate out there, and the big dust up with Kanye West and Kyrie Irving (not sure if you know them), with the Jewish community, was about who're the real Jews.
