Another awesome series REAL team! It would be cool in future seasons if there was some live feedback of the boards on the beach after a session to go with the overview discussions in the loft.

Thank you so much for the informative video as always. Brett is an awesome guy and so is Trip. Great information that shapers should’ve told me back when I was a kid and it’s all for free here. Hell yeah!

because all boards differ in outline, rocker etc i would suggest to always start with volume and not dims....
the volume(give or take 1-2 liters) will guide you to where the shaper wants you to choose from and not the dims....

I got into making my own boards, and being a physics geek, I wrote my own design software including the math to calculate volume. You are absolutely right that there are many ways to distribute foam, and imho people forget how much is hidden in the rockers (deck, rail, and stringer). The 3 dims on boards + volume only tell a little bit of the story. Volume is good to get in a reasonable ballpark though.
The other thing I've noticed is that the commercial boards I own do not measure the exact dimensions written on them. Easily an inch different in length! So it doesn't surprise me at all that between brands the true volume can be different. You might want to get a tape out and measure your boards, especially that frk! Might discover something?
Anyway, thanks for doing this series! It is awesome to hear the feedback a pro surfer gives on these boards. Brett's barrel riding is insane!

Wow you hit the nail on the head! My husband shaped and operated the CNC machine, he checks my new boards out all the time and they are always off dims from what the stringer says and what I ordered. Unless he makes them himself they’re never “right”. These pros are just amazing in what they do and work with, so lucky to have attentive shapers and also a lot of boards can get rejected.

amazing video, now hesitating between a round driver 3.0 and a lane splitter from chris. I feel like Brett enjoyed mostly those two, by the descriptions he makes of them and by my needs. I feel that one of those 2 would suit me well but i HESITATE !!

BTW, fin tech like the FCS PC keep the material characteristics for years.... so no need to replace even if newer versions with different graphics of the same fins come out...

I love my black Stix f6 I have the p8 too just haven't tried it yet would like to try the r8 for weak waves. The f6 goes amazing up to just overhead then its a little to twitchy imo in hawaii waves. But lots of drive and projection out of turns. Waiting for futures to make the vector in blackstix lol

What is Brett’s height and weight? Might be a good idea to say that at the beginning of each episode for the viewers. Love the content! Keep it coming🤙🏽

Well done 👍🏽 boys! ❤ I love to feel my boards, want/need custom dims but can’t ever feel that custom before it’s delivered so …. It’s tough to get what you really think you want.

Just talk to the shaper and if you have a stock board from them don't be afraid to explain your concerns with the board they can direct you in the mods they need to make or possibly even to a different model that would suit you better

@@bsmbBYes, lots of value in working with a shaper, especially a local one who rides the same waves.

Please get Brett to do the high line not the radius or radius prime as there is no reviews on the board and it would definitely be a sick board to see Brett surf
