- I ventured to the border of India and Bangladesh to visit India’s CLEANEST river. As many other large bodies of water in India continue to reel under toxic foam and pollutants, the River Umngot remains crystal clear (weather depending) and free of filth. This is partly due to Meghalaya’a strict anti pollution initiatives!
For me the most fascinating part of this was seeing crowds of people only meters away but in an entirely different country.

Visited this place in 2020 from the Bangladesh side. A very beautiful landscape. Very good memories, had a lot of fun. Hope to visit the place again 🤗👌

@@mikeokay The place is called 'Jaflong' in Bangladesh. It's about 5 km from Tamabil area of Sylhet district of Bangladesh. Tamabil stands between the Sylhet - Shillong road (a border root between Bangladesh and India) and is about 55 km from Sylhet town.
You can take any vehicle as almost all kinds of vehicles go there. You can get vehicles from Shibganj bazaar area in Sylhet town and the vehicles will directly take you there. If you travel via auto rickshaws, it may cost you about BDT 1200-2000 (the price may change considering time though, but don't forget to bargain).
One of the most interesting place in Shibganj bazaar area is " The Ali Amjad's Clocktower " , a 19th century clocktower and the oldest clocktower in Bangladesh and it tells time to this day! But ofcourse, there are other many interesting places to visit in Sylhet. It's one of the tourist spot areas of Bangladesh after all 🙂

There are a lot cleaner sections of Rivers in the Northeast. Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh

I’ll tell you something interesting! Those plastic bottles are actually not trash. The locals recycle and reuse the bottle to help them with their fishing! They attach fishing wire to them and collect them at the end of the day!
I think it would be coming from Bangladesh bcz stream direction was towards the India but feeling bad that India don't clear it 😞😞😞

River is so clean, you can see the human excrement floating downstream 3 feet underwater. Most other dirty rivers you can only see the surface floaters.

It depends on the season. During monsoon it rains a lot and all the silt, clay, dirt flows into the river. During winter it's cleaner

Well he visited during rainy months so yk soils would be mix from around the nearby river so it'll be dark in colour the best time to visit is winter months
