In mithila the grounded rice paste is called "pithar" & the "aipan" is called "aerpan". Pithar is normally used for two purposes. One is for sketching drawings on auspicious occasions other for making pakodas. A substitute to besan batter. In food habits, there are more similarities than I expected.
