    Nadia Faud, I want to thank you for ALWAYS making your projects basic beginners friendly. I am an 'intermediate basic' crocheter. You dont go fast, and you take your time in showing us viewers the step by step. I have to say, not one person should get upset and frustrated and just shut down your video because of not understanding a stitch. (I have done that many times to other instructors). To have an instructor like you, who takes their time in showing what could be a very complicated stitch into an easy one. And a BIG THANK YOU to your camera guy Faud Azmat! Awesome job he does!!

    This picture of this sweater does not do it justice, I passed this sweater by at least a dozen times..I wanted to make my Grand Daughter Ana a little play sweater that would give her room, yet keep her warm. I got out my ivory yarn and some of their raspberry, and I made a 16 inch granny square, sewed it all up, put a little ruffle band edging on the front.. She came over today she is 2 and a half and quite vocal and knows her color blendings already.. This child amazes me. I put her sweater on her, and she was not going to take that off, she loved it so much. About an hour later, I was working on a different practice swatch and she bought over a ball of Debra Norville variegated that I did not like. was called smoothie, and the colors just seem to run into each other.. So I started it for her, and she loved it.. then she went back to my yarn pile and bought over a skein of red heart soft touch lemon.. My daughter and I were just looking at each other.. This baby amazes me... Bottom Line, IF any of you are passing this sweater by DON"T, It is not only fun to make, but if a 2 and a half year old loves it, and can pick out the colors for the next one, you know you have something special.. Thank You so much Nadia, for not only making my day full of smiles, but making my Babes feel like she is a big girl, and can start designing her own colors... lol... PS. and she wants to wear this one to lunch tomorrow and to go apple picking...

    Thank you so much for this tutorial, I have followed it to your instruction, an it is fantastic, I made mine in Grey Aran for main colour, an Plum for trim. I have tried so many times to make these an was never really happy with the size, but measured as you say, made it 41 inches, an it is like being wrapped in a soft blanket of huggable warmth. I am a 16/18 an this is really roomy will be making Zillions of these in different colours, I suffer with chronic pain from Fibromyalgia, an Arthritis so hate any thing tight grabbing me as it is painful. this is so so lovely, thank you Nadia. and bless your kind heart.

      I agree with you on the pain.. my daughter is with the .. i have the arthritis but not diagnosed yet with fibromiolagia, but no, I ne checked me out for it. I might be, but who's to say. Yes, I like it roomy.. I'm a big person but I need light weight vers I n.. I'm making I ng mine, 1 ply with a 2.5 mm hook its like F or smaller size hook.

    I've made 4 of these now in different colors. I used the simply soft yarn and I also made my square a bit smaller, 35", with a K hook to suit my size. I really like them and I get a lot of compliments when I wear them. They are enjoyable to make. Thanks.

I confess that I doubted myself at first, but in the end everything worked out. I had never managed to make a big square before. And now, with this video I made a cardigan! Thanks again and congratulations for the beautiful job of helping people!

I'm fairly new at crocheting and am about to come to the edging on sleeves and middle. Have had no problems. Can't wait to wear it! I'm doing it in buff and black for versatility with my wardrobe. Thank You so much for your awesome patterns and instructions!

    I love this Nadia. I have learned something today, watching your video, the fact that turning your work keeps everything squared. I have been crocheting for 50 years and I did not know that. I also learned how to do mattress stitch to join the seams and that looks so good. So God bless you for teaching an old lady something. I also have to mention how neat your work is, beautiful. I am really excited to make one (or two) of these now. Thanks for the video.

    I originally made this cardigan with another video tutorial, but I have to say that the way you do it is truly fantastic! You make it so simple. I especially love doing the square by turning the work each round.. it gives it such a lovely look. I have been making granny squares for many many years and never thought of doing that. It is a brilliant idea. I have made this cardigan from your tutorial now and, of course, simply went round and round and had to frog it and start again... habit! So glad I did because it looks great. Also, I love the mattress stitch. I have never been able to do it and doing a WIP stitch is just so untidy. Thanks for that. I am about to start the last bits and will post a pic when I'm finished. Once again thank you so very much.:)

    Great instructional video! I like how you "hopped" over the seam on the edging. And I love how the big hook gives it such great drape! Your enthusiasm is infectious!
    A suggestion about purchasing yarn. I would purchase based on total # of yards instead of ounces if I'm not using Red Heart because the same # of ounces can produce different yardages, depending on how thick or thin the medium-weight yarn is.

      kawaiipeach yes! i finally finished it! it's so confy and warm. I have some yarn left so I think I'll add a hood to it

    • @MiauMichigan
      @MiauMichigan 9 лет назад +3

      just look for "hood addon for shrug" here on youtube. Add the hood to the top of the shrug before making the edging with the other color. Once you have attached the hood, crochet the edging all around incluiding the hood.
