New interior is so clean and functional, I did order mine with a wobbly stick though. Just have to wait a few more weeks for it to arrive, while I keep coming across neat videos like yours . I've developed a love hate relationship with these GRY MK.2 videos \o/

The interior actually has old time roots. This is what the old timers rally cars for driving experience used to look like. Actually, really big ups for toyota do this kind of car in 2024. I can't even imagine how much bureaucracy you have to go through to have this done inside the company :D.

Agreed. I was planning on buying the new car and tried to convince myself the mechanical improvements out weighed how ugly they've made the interior, but I couldn't do it. Bought a brand new Rallye about 6 weeks ago instead.

The average Toyota owner doesn't care, otherwise Toyota would go bankrupt. They have some of the most horrendous and outdated interiors out there.
I’m kinda the same. I’m guessing Toyota wants to stay true to the Rally car roots. Mostly functional, mostly practical. Looks are secondary.

How does it feel the "8 years" while driving on sequential mode? do you feel gears too close?
Im not much into automatic cars (obviusly they are better for long and highway travels) but I also love sequential mode, so how does those 8 gears feel in that way? Thank you!

the only thing I like about the facelift model is the rear lights.
Yes the front doesn't look better than the 1st gen, but still good. The rear is a defnite improvement with the brake lights between the rear lights.

That dashboard can easily accommodate a component hi-fi system. IYKYK.
I personally hate the new tailights and very much prefer the old front bumper but what can I say, it’s Toyota gr engineering, it’s probably way better for aero.
It sounds little bit like AMG V8. Lovehate the dashboard but overall look cool.

Yup. Dashboard looks like a prototype or it's supposed to be ripped out. Nowhere for your phone to go unless you suction cup it to the screen.
It has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so there is no reason for using phone holder any more.

Oh that new gearbox is sharp. The interior design is a bit too retro, but I am excited for this new transmission to come to the GR Corolla. Hopefully, a derivative or modified version also makes it into the next generation GR86.

I was going to consider this car in the Auto but that dash is a deal breaker, I just couldn't own that car with that dash. 60k this will be in Australia with that dash toyota are on meth!!
If you guys get the GR Corolla then just get that instead. Basically the same car just a pinch bigger than the GR Yaris. Also the auto is confirmed for the GR Corolla in 2025

You say the dashboard design is better for visibility but it’s actually worse. Anyone that spends 50k+ on a ‘Yaris’ will be driving this thinking, I paid all that money for an ugly and cheap retro looking dash made using shitty materials and finished in a bland colour. Your visibility is worse because you wouldn’t be able to take your eyes (or thoughts) off the PoS dash 😂
