Hi Jason, thanks for coming to Jakarta, Indonesia. I like this video with positive vibes.. I just wanted to comment on the "tuktuk", in Indonesia we called it, "bajaj" (read, Bajai). According on what you payed, Rp. 100.000,- from Blok M to Ascott Kuningan Hotel; usually it's pay more than Rp 50.000,- because Bajai can't go through Jalan Sudirman due to the Highway code, so the driver need to make u-turn from another way, to avoid it. If you travel by car, it will be faster if you go through Jalan Sudirman from Blok M to Ascott Kuningan Hotel. Conclusion, what you pay is not over-charge and also not too cheap. Why? 1. You took ride at night, 2. no traffic jam, 3. You got very experienced driver that knows the road very well and honest, you're so lucky bro. Well, that's just my two cents. Because the area that you took is the road I go since childhood hahaha (Blok M)...

Tuktuk = Bajai in Indonesia (Bajaj in India) Rp 100.000 a little bit expensive but it's been a while since the last time I used Bajai. I would prefer Gocar/Gojeg nowdays. 28:20 that's tempe, it's from soya bean Avocado sweet is from brown sugar, I think

Jason, what you ate on 11:56 was Telur Gulung. The eggs were mixed with a bit of flour, water, salt and seasoning. Then you pour the batter in the hot oil. Wait for a couple of seconds and you roll the eggs with the stick. Voila! Telur gulung...rolled eggs. It is not as thick as in Korean or Japanese menu, since it is a snack for us, the Indonesians.

Near Bogor Station, walking distance: Bogor Botanical Garden, Bogor Presidential Palace, Surya Kencana Street. Avoid peak hour when commuting (recomment at 9am from jakarta (any nearby station) to Bogor
I kept seeing you buying different public transport cards (and even the same ones multiple times), so here what you need to know: 1. There are five bank cards, four (Flazz, E-Money, Brizzi, and Tapcash) could be used everywhere including at retail (Your favorite Alfamart and Indomaret), one (Jakcard from the Provincial bank) is at exclusively for Jakarta's public transport and tourist area such as Monas, Ragunan Zoo, and museums. 2. KMT (otherwise known as kartu kereta or kartu KRL). Note that you could use your red KMT card for every public transportation in Jakarta, but you could only top it up on KRL stations. So be sure to have a balance of at least 15,000 IDR 3. There are MRT "Jelajah Card" (Single trip). You don't have to buy it everytime, just reload the trip to your card on the machine. So there you are. My recommendation is to use your KMT but don't forget to top it up

12:20 tusuk means the stick Jason, so 10 tusuk means you'll get 10 stick of telur gulung. Telur Gulung literally means rolled eggs, so eggs are mixed with seasoning then it is spread on hot oil then the seller quickly rolls the stick throughout the eggs.

Thank you Jason for promoting Jakarta. Don't be afraid to ask if you are confused, Indonesian people are friendly. You can ask young people here. They are mostly college students who know English. Telur = egg, keju = cheese. 🙏🙏❤
Hi Jason! Idk whether you're still in Jakarta. But if one day you wish to return, I'll be happy to help you travel whenever I can (esp. speaking with locals). Jakarta can be pretty overwhelming for newcomers, so having a local with you would definitely make your experience better. Thank you for exploring our city, and I hope you find it memorable!
Indonesia people nominated as the most friendly peoples. If you need a help, we will gladly help you. Just ask help to us. But better you asked help to younger people, mostly they know english.
You have to try this one : “Beng-Beng” , a chocolate-combo snack, combines multi layers of tasty element beyond just luscious real chocolate snack. Only Beng Beng holds the key to the exciting combinations, more than just chocolate or wafer. It is the best.
My advice if you are a tourist is to ask the guide from the hotel or at least for street food, ask the price first then deal. tourists will be easy targets for pricing.
Lol... You're meant to mix it... That's why they give you a spoon. A lot of Indonesian food.. Drinks.. Are presented/made that way and only mixed once you're ready to drink /eat. :) Enjoy the rest of your trip! Come visit Surabaya if you can. You'll find different food 😋
1. Chicken Satay you eat is Sate Taichan, we also have chicken satay with peanut sauce. 2. The 8.3/10 you eat is Telor Gulung or Egg Roll?? in english, "Tusuk" means the stick, so in your case those are 10 pieces of Egg Rolls.
33:15 first, we call it bajay here in Indonesia ☺️. You might’ve got slightly ripped of with the 100k but that’s not too bad. It’s usually very very cheap but considering there are modern online transport companies with apps like gojek and grab dominating the market, I think we should all give a little bit more to the humble oldschool bajay drivers. They deserve more.
Hi Jason, thank you for coming to Indonesia! I want to describes the food that you just ate if you are wondering you just ate Telur Gulung (11:19) Telur means egg, and gulung means roll, so its basically Eggrolls😊, meanwhile tusuk means pieces for satay, 10 tusuk means 10 pieces of satay. Keju means cheese (13:32) At this part you ate Ayam Goreng (Fried Chicken) (25:59). and you ate Tempe, and its fried. (28:08) Tempe is original food from Indonesia, it comes from fermented soybeans. Indonesians eat this because its highly protein I would like to recommend you to go to Bandung City because you can go with our newly high speed train!
10 tusuk means 10 stick, it is called telur gulung means egg roll. the chicken satay have different style, the one you ate is called satay taichan without peanut sauce. normally satay chicken or sate ayam mixed it with peanut sauce. keju means cheese. The drinks is a mixture called es alpukat, ice avocado with coconut milk and brown sugar. The vehicle you took called bajaj not tuktuk, tuktuk is in Thailand. Your last drink is like a fruit infused mineral water to quenched your thirst. You could try the street food in Pecenongan area, they have famous martabak manis there. hope it's help :) enjoy Indonesia. I am an Indonesian btw and i live in Jakarta.

Tuktuk = Bajai in Indonesia (Bajaj in India)
Rp 100.000 a little bit expensive but it's been a while since the last time I used Bajai. I would prefer Gocar/Gojeg nowdays.
28:20 that's tempe, it's from soya bean
Avocado sweet is from brown sugar, I think
Close to midnight when public transportation is already closed is going to be expensive no matter what mode of transportation to choose.
@@dalfifran7572 agree, mate
Sudirman ,thamrin ,mrt,is modern jakarta ,you can go to Pantai indah kapuk, pondok indah mall, for more enjoy jakarta, but if you want to playground (like disneyland),you can go to Dufan in Ancol,or you want to know about indonesia ,you can go to Taman Mini Indonesia(TMII),or you can go to old town ,you can go to pancoran, glodok, kota tua, cikini, melawai, sarinah.thats around about jakarta.
You know some days humidity level reaches 98% where I live, which is Malang of East Java, which used to be one of the coldest place in Indonesia.... and those nights with humidity over 95% felt like hell had leaked a little. You can really feel it when you have no air conditioning... it's an insomnia guaranteed.
Hi jason. Im really like your content vlog. Love jakarta from Antartika
Are you a penguin? Sending love from Mars ❤

Good, anda sangat luar biasa berada di jakarta, Indonesia. Salam kenal dari sumut, Indonesia.
The best part in this video is SATE TAICHAN and TELUR GULUNG !
What is sate Taichan? Can you explain it? I didn’t know this when I lived in Indonesia
Sir, try your new mission to the Jakarta History Museum or local people call it kota tua , there you will find a museum of Dutch colonial relics in ancient times, happy holiday in our birthplace, happy traveling 🙌
I keep smiling watching you eat Indonesian food. You have such a good appetite. 🎉
Keju = is cheese🧀
Tusuk = is Steak
Telur Gulung = is shredded roll Egg
Telur = egg
Gulung = shredded roll
Stick masbro, bukan steak
Someone greeted you, sir, behind you, but you didn't answer😢😂 6:31. Anyway, your journey in this vlog is very exciting, I can't wait for your vlog in Bandung. Don't forget to go there by fast train, or to make your vlog even better, take an exclusive train such as the "suite class" train or other exclusive trains🤭
They don't directly greet him, it's more like a self-insert into the video because they're aware he's filming. 😅
Assalamualaikum...good evening,welcome to JKT Indonesia brother🙏🥰🇮🇩
Please come visit Indonesia again with your friends and relatives 😊
Jason, what you ate on 11:56 was Telur Gulung. The eggs were mixed with a bit of flour, water, salt and seasoning. Then you pour the batter in the hot oil. Wait for a couple of seconds and you roll the eggs with the stick. Voila! Telur gulung...rolled eggs. It is not as thick as in Korean or Japanese menu, since it is a snack for us, the Indonesians.
I love Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩
I'm from Depok kota
Near Bogor Station, walking distance: Bogor Botanical Garden, Bogor Presidential Palace, Surya Kencana Street. Avoid peak hour when commuting (recomment at 9am from jakarta (any nearby station) to Bogor
Terima kasih p presiden Jokowi berkat mu pembangunan di jkt terutama sejak adanya LRT dn MRT Indonesia kelihatan indah dn ramai
I kept seeing you buying different public transport cards (and even the same ones multiple times), so here what you need to know:
So be sure to have a balance of at least 15,000 IDR
3. There are MRT "Jelajah Card" (Single trip). You don't have to buy it everytime, just reload the trip to your card on the machine.
So there you are. My recommendation is to use your KMT but don't forget to top it up
Anndd I love your vlog style. Very casual and personal. Bo heavy editing. Juat you, going around and wording your thoughts. Please enjoy your time here❤
Thank you brothet...welcome to indonesia...
Indonesian people have lots of street foods like everywhere.
Jason 😂😂I love to watch your videos. I often reply many times, you're funny with your British accents and how you describe everything, details and seem cool.. keep going, dude❤
Hi Jason “keju” is cheese in Indonesian language. Enjoy your freshly trip in Jakarta n there’s still a lot to explore in this amazing country! God bless!!
Bos makannya lahap sekali terima kasih atas kunjungannya ke Indonesia 💚🇮🇩👍👍👍
"Walk down the train and look at people," I absolutely got you sir, the hardest side quest for me too and I had that quest everyday last years

Alsooo
The hash brown-taste-alike food you ate with chicken was “tempe/tempeh”. It’s basically a fermented soy. Many vegans eat them as their protein source. You can find many dishes made out of tempeh✨
Welcome to jakarta jason..don't afraid to ask if u confuse n use u google translate to know what u eat...ayam mean chicken, 10 tusuk mean 10 stick 4 u "telur gulung" n before out u hotel search in google most autentic indonesian food in jakarta👍
Before you go anywhere, you have to try the neighboring city of Jakarta, you have to go to the top of Bogor to enjoy delicious food at the top of the mountain and the cold air😁👍🇮🇩, you are serching on RUclips
#puncakbogor
watching your video with smile in my face. look at you so enjoying all those foods. welcome to Indonesia. leave with some beautiful memories here. God bless you
Thank you Jason for promoting Jakarta. Don't be afraid to ask if you are confused, Indonesian people are friendly. You can ask young people here. They are mostly college students who know English. Telur = egg, keju = cheese. 🙏🙏❤
The "beer" is sweet because it's not actually beer, it's a non-alcoholic version of Bintang.
But better you asked help to younger people, mostly they know english.
thats telur gulung , means egg rolled with vermicelli. dipped with taichan satay red sauce. so delicious
21:19 Oh nooo! that was totally different kind of sateee!!! you have to try sate padang soon
You have to try this one :
“Beng-Beng” , a chocolate-combo snack, combines multi layers of tasty element beyond just luscious real chocolate snack. Only Beng Beng holds the key to the exciting combinations, more than just chocolate or wafer.
It is the best.
kind of food :
1.satay taichan
2.cilor is egg with noodle
3.dumpling keju is dumpling with cheese
4.mushroom shitake with beef
My advice if you are a tourist is to ask the guide from the hotel or at least for street food, ask the price first then deal. tourists will be easy targets for pricing.
Lol... You're meant to mix it... That's why they give you a spoon. A lot of Indonesian food.. Drinks.. Are presented/made that way and only mixed once you're ready to drink /eat. :)
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Come visit Surabaya if you can. You'll find different food 😋
Have a nice trips
Indonesia beautiful.. amazing country
Mantap Om, perjalanan yang mengasyikkan lanjutkan
Hi jason, I hope u enjoy in Indonesia, have a Nice day
Thanks brother
This guy so natural ..
Indonesian banget ..Keep moving man !
terimakasih telah berkunjung kelndonesia
1. Chicken Satay you eat is Sate Taichan, we also have chicken satay with peanut sauce.
2. The 8.3/10 you eat is Telor Gulung or Egg Roll?? in english, "Tusuk" means the stick, so in your case those are 10 pieces of Egg Rolls.
thanks for the info bro 🙏
Hai, the food name that "10 tusk" that you like is telur gulung which means egg rolls the ingredient are egg and rice noodles 😊
The tuktuk rate was a reasonable price for you and a good price for the driver. You are not ripped off.
If you want to eat Indonesian food, You are looking for a Padang restaurant
33:15 first, we call it bajay here in Indonesia ☺️. You might’ve got slightly ripped of with the 100k but that’s not too bad. It’s usually very very cheap but considering there are modern online transport companies with apps like gojek and grab dominating the market, I think we should all give a little bit more to the humble oldschool bajay drivers. They deserve more.
Hi Jason, thank you for coming to Indonesia!
I want to describes the food that you just ate if you are wondering
you just ate Telur Gulung (11:19) Telur means egg, and gulung means roll, so its basically Eggrolls😊, meanwhile tusuk means pieces for satay, 10 tusuk means 10 pieces of satay.
Keju means cheese (13:32)
At this part you ate Ayam Goreng (Fried Chicken) (25:59). and you ate Tempe, and its fried. (28:08) Tempe is original food from Indonesia, it comes from fermented soybeans. Indonesians eat this because its highly protein
I would like to recommend you to go to Bandung City because you can go with our newly high speed train!
18:06 try the whole one (not ones with hole), it will blow your mind.
