Beautiful. I wish I was young again. That is what I call living. We have lost most of that kind of living here in the lower 48 states. Alaska is the last real frontier in America, and corporate america wants to get their greedy little hands in there and destroy that too. It has been sad to see how America has been paved over and used up with no regard for Nature. Little do most here realize to destroy Nature, is to destroy themselves as well.
Maynard Did you sleep bad or just stumbled out from a cave? What you don't understand must be ridiculous.. Right? Environmental issues is long known and some countries are dealing successfully with reality instead of ridiculing proven facts..
my thoughts exactly Mary...if I was young and knew then what I know now, I'd be LIVING out in that wilderness...instead I have a huge, 4,500 sq ft home, filled with stuff...we have RV's, zero debt. housekeeper and grounds keeper to keep all this too much stuff organized, cleaned, etc...but I'm NOT happy. I suffer pain, poor health probably all the stress endured trying to keep a perfect home, raise 4 kids...sigh.... We live far out in the country, have a phenomenal view, but if it were a small log shack, with basics and loved ones to share the experiences living out in the wilderness....everything!...except one thing...MOSQUITOES and those tiny gnat like buggers called "no see'ums" that bite! But I think Heaven is going to be more like the wilderness...i doubt Heaven will include a Costco or Walmart....and for sure, houses, but nothing like the ones we had on planet earth....I can't wait...just a little bit longer and we'll be going home!
Crytears sunny you must all be mad I would be with all the crumpet in a hot place like colombia. I'd be at the carnival picking out the birds with the nicest figures for good night's of passion

24:30 few thousand kilometers far from siberia in poland we also celebrate in the same way when spring is coming, by burning and later drowning Morana which symbolizes winter. this tradition is old as old is slavic world.
Really enjoyed the canoe making. And the old WW2 vet who broke down while talking made my throat tighten and I don’t even know for what exactly was he crying.
Он заплакал от воспоминаний которые на него нахлынули тот момент когда он вспомнил слова Сталина из радио о победе над Германией. О тех минутах счастья всех Советских граждан 9 мая 1945 года. He wept at the memory of the moment when he remembered Stalin's words from the radio about the victory over Germany. About those moments of happiness for all Soviet citizens on may 9, 1945.
My grandfather participated in the great Patriotic war . Every year on may 9, this great victory day was celebrated. And he had a tradition he took a tape recorder with songs of that war, photos of his comrades and relatives who died in this war went to the woods in the backyard listened to songs drank and cried talking with photos. And so every year the relatives waited for him to return and all sit down to celebrate this great holiday. He died in 2000. But the photo and all his things are still stored in his room and I and my children have no idea what would change something in his room.
Hi everybody, I live in the city and after watching this I want to live with these people. They are definitely the best of us. Very few if any negative thoughts. What do you want to do today? Let's go hunt for something to eat. Then tune the snowmobiles up,then take care of the dogs, then reload some ammo so we're ready for tomorrow. Sounds like paradise. I love the freezing cold too.Good thoughts to everyone out there.Pete and Dee from Sacramento California USA.
you will scream with powerlessness when you get into the real taiga. complete silence, no sounds of cars, etc., it works depressingly, you want to go home immediately, to a warm bed

Alaska is the last real frontier in America, and corporate america wants to get their greedy little hands in there and destroy that too. It has been sad to see how America has been paved over and used up with no regard for Nature. Little do most here realize to destroy Nature, is to destroy themselves as well.
+Mary Morningstar Yes, with romantic music and all. Go live like that. haha.
Maynard Did you sleep bad or just stumbled out from a cave?
What you don't understand must be ridiculous.. Right?
Environmental issues is long known and some countries are dealing successfully with reality instead of ridiculing proven facts..
man did not cause the earth to warm u idiot
my thoughts exactly Mary...if I was young and knew then what I know now, I'd be LIVING out in that wilderness...instead I have a huge, 4,500 sq ft home, filled with stuff...we have RV's, zero debt. housekeeper and grounds keeper to keep all this too much stuff organized, cleaned, etc...but I'm NOT happy.

Have watched this 100 times now...Loved it
Great Documentary! I really respect the way these people live. They only depend on themselves and their families for support.
Good job from hockey land, we like these shows and your hockey players.
Могучий и русский язык! Не понять им этой души, сколько в филме заложено! Сам просмотрел все фильмы по несколько раз и продолжаю пересматривать, успокаивает!

24:30 few thousand kilometers far from siberia in poland we also celebrate in the same way when spring is coming, by burning and later drowning Morana which symbolizes winter. this tradition is old as old is slavic world.
I saw the shorter version and loved it. This is even better! Thank you for posting this.
I was just watching that, Werner Herzog version! Wanted to find the boat building in more depth and found this!
What luck!
I agree... great movie... greetings from Ohio....
I know what I'm saying because I lived in Moscow for 3 years and returned to the taiga again. the forest did not accept me, I felt horror, being alone with nature.
but since winter again in the forest, everything is fine.
Ok, you changed my mind, I'll just visit someday. Good thoughts to all of you in the Tiaga.

@@irinadz thank you for answering.
It’s such simple life and lovely people. Btw Russia went through a lot during World War2. Even it’s not recognized by west without Russians Nazi Germany could not have been stopped.
Read the gulag archipelago. I really feel for the Russian people. Then check the video where Boris yeltsin went to a grocery store in Houston Texas.

Biggest country! Great peoples!
This is soooo unusual....amazing.....in these times we live to see this sort life.....so fully independent....beautiful.....but in a realistic way.....their struggle...
Reminds me of our native people in Northern Canada. I met a fisherman/ trapper north of Thompson Manitoba who worked really hard daily. He had a nice home and was well respected.
Wow! Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful documentary
Brilliant Work...thank you
Awesome documentary, the nature footage is superb. I also like seeing everyday life in the villages.
