- "Is It You" is a song by Lee Ritenour from his 1981 LP Rit. The song was co-written by Ritenour, Bill Champlin of Chicago, and Eric Tagg who sings the lead vocals on the track.
It reached #15 on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts. It was also a Top 40 hit in Canada. The music video was featured on MTV's first day of broadcast.

In middle school, I heard this by accident while endlessly rotating my JVC radio tuner
searching for any Bruce Springsteen or Smooth jazz love songs. And now after 39 yrs
it still lingers in my ears the tune and everything.

This really brings back many many memories! Was 13 yrs old at that time & im now 54 yrs old going on 55 yrs this yr ! Just listening to this song makes wish I could go back in time! I remember this song like it was yesterday! I think this came out around the spring of 1981 ! I was still in the 6 th grade .moving on into the 7 th grade in the fall of 1981 .
