There are very specific uses for it, but all in all, I do think that it is way too pricey and not reliable enough to justify 2 bars for it. Right now, there is almost never a real reason to use drive reversal, except you are Sim, Zangief or Manon or something. Otherwise, it's pretty half-assed defense and often does more harm than good. It's a tool that feels like it doesn't work properly.
Don't know about Japan but these are by far the 2 most prominent pro Ryu players in CPT.
