Gold Lane Roger was always a thing. It's just that it was not that popular because Jungle Roger was so good, everyone thought picking Roger meant only jungle. And i can say that because i used to do it since the last season and still do it now. But i did have a trick up my sleeve. It seems others don't really know about it. So the trick is before you transform from wolf to human, use his second skill. It gives lots of extra attck speed, which comes in really handy when pushing towers. Combine that with his second skill of human form, and you have about 1.4 times extra attck speed without any items. The longer range of the human form and the dash of his ult give extra chances to escape.

i think the reason gold lane roger suddenly works is because moonton considered move and attack new feature so they nerfed all mm early game hp and attributes but not roger even though he clearly benefits from it...because for some reason moonton still considers him a fighter/jungler...that hp advantage in laning phase against more squishy mm is what makes him viable in gold lane

Whenever I pick roger gold lane my team complains. Then eat their own words when I destroy the enemy mm. Roger is good for gold lane when enemy has 2 or more heroes that can easily kill mm.
