    Great tutorial. I love the pace of this. As an experienced player, watching you correlate music theory with action is just what I need. Plus you can run through various licks quickly, and I can always go back later to watch it again. Best video tutorial on this subject so far in my opinion. Thanks.

    GREAT LESSON!! If you're having trouble following this lesson(understanding all of the intervals(numbers) that he's talking about), then just go back and review a more basic breakdown of the CAGED system and then come back to this lesson. It's not just chords shapes like he said. It's a stack of important intervals. But please come back because there is A LOT of good info to be learned on these first three videos. This is the stuff that the REALLY GOOD players understand and it provides a good foundation for learning and playing good music!

    The secret to playing country guitar is first and foremost listening to country music. You can't discuss Shakespeare until you've first read his works.

    Brilliant! Very well explained (like in lesson 1) and easy to follow, if you know the basics. Thank you so much, I am really looking forward to your next lessons!

    Wow, great stuff. Thanx so much. After not practicing in a while I look at my hands and there seems to be instead of finger rather cigar butts. After bending, now sore cigar butts

    Chris, I caught you playing with Don Kelly one weekday afternoon about 5 years ago as I was on my way to catch a flight home...and every since you were the mystery sound machine guit player that I told folks about. Didn't know your name despite doing RUclips searches on DKBand. Saw clips with Guthrie, JD, Johnny...but not the mystery magician (you). For some reason this morning was watching a clip of Nashville pickers and there you are. Searched on your name and found your lesson series. OK...you've put all this stuff out there for free and this is exactly how I think of the instrument...except you have PHd and I'm in 2nd grade. How do I actually BUY something. Well worth every penny.

    Really good video...first systematic, foundational approach to steel guitar bends I've seen on RUclips. Fun, too!
    Also, YOU SPOKE TO JAMES BURTON?! I mean, talk about guitar 🎸 legends...I realize this video is 6 or 7 years old; I'll have to Google Mr. Burton and find out if he's still with us.

    CHRIS CASELLO , >>> can you make a video tutorial on showing a lot of different pedal steel bends licks on guitar?

  • @jerichothedrifter60
    @jerichothedrifter60 3 года назад

    The only problem I'm having with the dom7th bend at 7:25 is bending the B string downward until it slips off the fingerboard, which gives you a completely wacky overtone you don't want

    • @chriscasello7257
      @chriscasello7257  3 года назад +1

      You might be pulling it too far down. Shouldn’t happen.

    • @jerichothedrifter60
      @jerichothedrifter60 3 года назад

      @@chriscasello7257 yeah, I went from .11s to .10s awhile back, I'm having to get a whole different feel for bends after that. Way too easy to overbend em past the target pitch.

    What string gauges are you using on your Tele Chris? Just curious. Very good session and you not only show the licks but you name the intervals used. Thanks.

    I'm curious about your gear. Pickups, amp mostly I guess. I know sound comes from our hands, but you've got the greatest
    tone going on. It's really open with just enough growl.

    • @chriscasello7257
      @chriscasello7257  7 лет назад +1

      Michael McMahan in this vid I'm using a James North tele I helped design. Joe Barden pick ups. The amp is a P3 a very nice hand made amp by Kye Kennedy and Price Harrison.

  • @telecaster643
    @telecaster643 7 лет назад

    Ive been seeing various Pedal Steel bend lessons on RUclips lately using Tele's where they can easily do Swells with the volume knob right under bridge pickup. It took me a while before I realized it seemed so much harder for me than it looked in the videos because my Volume knob, on all 8 of my teles btw!!!, is back further, with the Toggle switch being right under the bridge pick up. So toggle is first, then volume knob, then tone. Where are all these Tele's with Volume knob first ?? Is that a Mod?

    • @chriscasello7257
      @chriscasello7257  7 лет назад +1

      Tele Caster it's switch, tone then volume. Just flip the plate.
