completely agree, Andy makes DD, can't stand Dom Brown, he's a decent guitarist but lacks feeling/emotion in his playing. Warren is a fantastic guitarist, different from Andy but at least has emotion and feeling in his playing style
The problem was, Warren turned out to be a major drug ingesting d-bag, and that's why Duran split with him. The boys are all into clean living now, and Warren wasn't interested in getting clean. It was really great having Andy back for Astronaut, but sadly, all the old rivalries and problems began to surface again, even after all these years, so he split. At least, we got Roger back, which is pretty awesome. No one could really take his place, not Stirling Campbell, not anybody. And the way Rog twirls a drumstick has always been a massive turn-on to me, lol! I have been listening to Duran Duran since 1981, when Planet Earth came out. I was just 13 years old. Cripes, has it been almost 40 years?! Simon was, is, and ever shall be my favourite Duran. But Roger runs a very close second!😁
I've played this song at work and for roommates. They each assume the song is about 9/11 or the Red/Blue Divide or some other tragedy. I tell them it came out in 88 and they are always surprised.
Thomas Edouard yes, that ragged out, stressed voice he has going on there is perfect for this song. I imagine that was the plan. If not, then a very happy accident...except for the part where he forgot the words of course
This is such a treat. I missed this whole concert tour. I so wanted to be there if not just to hear this live. Thank you. 2019 is starting off as a good.
Walk the edge of America Concrete beach to scrape my hand Inside the subway stinking fear and shame Becomes the violent breath. Vigilantes out on dawn patrol But now there's nothing left to hide I'm just a number on the metal fence Which marks the great divide. Sing it Hey boy, give your dreams a rest If you're tired of searching this is where it ends There's nothing left to lose Nothing to protest Learn to love your anger now Anger here is all you possess. Welcome to the edge. Below the towers of the citadel Seems someone overlooked the cost. Forgotten soldier of Paradise Now Paradise is lost. Recognition never realized Salvation lost among the crowd So tell me here beside the sterile sea Where is your nation now? And we say Hey boy, give your dreams a rest If you're tired of searching this is where it ends There's nothing left to lose Nothing to protest Learn to love your anger now Anger here is all you possess. Era il terzo concerto consecutivo a milano lo show del lunedì io ero presente al primo del sabato sera è normale che la voce fosse un po stanca..cmq bella
John said when he was working he was able to stop and it was only when was not working and had time on his hands when he would get in trouble with drugs and alcohol but by the late 90s he needed to get out of it to go to get help because it was starting to affect his work and life. Been clean and sober since then.
If we cannot have Andy, let's have Warren back...he is a beast on guitar!
This era is DD's greatest sound live but ironically the album slope. Such a paradox
Notorious and Big Thing still my fav albums.
@@defpixel agree, the only two albums i never skip track

John is fucking amazing! Since day 1.
I love Simon. I always have. He has an amazing voice and presence.
All the guys looked fashionable and stunning but they also delivered. Something you do not see today.
This was a good show, I remember being there.

What a great live version of this song, so much better than the studioversion.

welcome to the edgeeeee!!
Why does John look so angry, though?
Love this song. They are my boys forever.
Rusty voice at the end of the show, what a pleasure. Simon is a tiger.
Thomas Edouard yes, that ragged out, stressed voice he has going on there is perfect for this song. I imagine that was the plan. If not, then a very happy accident...except for the part where he forgot the words of course

Welcome to the edge
Heah boy give your dreams a rest 👍👍👍👍👍
I am glad Mike is on duty.
This is inspired. Nick dressed like an investment banker amongst a circus.
John in his Kubicki Factor days.
And looking mighty hot!
Formidable
You mean John, right?
I'm stunned by him.
Era il terzo concerto consecutivo a milano lo show del lunedì io ero presente al primo del sabato sera è normale che la voce fosse un po stanca..cmq bella
i miss andy but he's good
Started Rusty but vocals got better as he sang.
he was sick... but he did amazing
He forgot the lyrics!
Yeah it was a little cringy
Yes...hahahah...but its ok lah
Did Simon repeat the second refrain of the first part after the chorus? 🤔
I knew Nick didn't play the piano parts ever! I feel cheated!
how can he play synth and piano live at the same time ? you need a session player .
When's the last time u saw him play the piano? Ever!!!
Do you mean Synth?
And yes he does play!
You can`t play everything live .
Nice guitar from warren...
Not Andy but miles better than what they have now.
The guy they have now Dom Brown on tour has been there almost 20 years!
John looks extremely high 😳
He looks focused on doing this music. He is high on the music!
he does. This was during his heavy drug use. He is so thin and pale here.
Take a look a johns mouth, he is coked out of his mind!
He's doing that on purpose, it's all part of his performance.
John said when he was working he was able to stop and it was only when was not working and had time on his hands when he would get in trouble with drugs and alcohol but by the late 90s he needed to get out of it to go to get help because it was starting to affect his work and life. John has always done that with his mouth even in the early days of DD.
