Was his life really full? Based on my experience working with drug addicts, taking drugs is actually self-medication for trauma. Also, taking drugs=a lot of time when you have passed out and have no memories of whole swathes of your life.
So, I always saw Keith Moon as a deeply unhappy and disturbed person. Sadly, these unhappy destructive people also spread unhappiness to their nearest and dearest. I am not judging him. Maybe that was his unconscious pact with the devil: be a one of a kind drummer, and repay in tragedy and destruction.

Not exactly. Some states had under 21 low beer and high beer and wine liquor, 21 and over, but in Michigan, it was legal at 18 to drink whatever alcohol content, Ohio, no. By 1984, all states were 21 and over due to federal funding for roadwork. It would be with held if states didn’t comply.

So Moon wanted people to believe he was "wracked with guilt" over murdering his body guard, yet he was such a wasted piece of cosmic spittle that he would not clean up his act so he would not do it again. Only a really little worthless waste of space would do that. A shame the Who did not really look for a better drummer so they could stop inflicting Moon on society. I remember growing up and reading all about his "antics" not cute, not great, just stupid. Glad he is gone.
