Nice video. These Sony Biotracer tables were indeed great. Wish I'd known someone like you when my cheaper Sony PS-X600 suddenly stopped spinning back in 1984. Never did get it repaired as nobody local knew how. It wasn't even two years old at the time. My parents eventually dumped it after I left home. Complete waste I've always regretted. Did manage to salvage the slotted mat though, still use it to this day on my Technics SL1210.
That is truly a shame. I've restored a few of the PS-X600 and they are very nice and also very reliable when completed. I have a video on the PS-X600 is you dig back a bit.
What a nice vid! As i'm 'blessed' with an essential tremor, it's getting harder and harder for me to operate my manual Michell Orbe turntable, so now looking for a a fully automatic direct drive one with similar sound quality. Could this be the one? And if yes, would you have a restored one available for me/could you restore one for me??? I am in the Netherlands but do have shipping address in FL. Many thanx for getting back to me ;-)
Hi. So cool to see you doing videos on this turntable...its one of my favorites! I am having issues with mine and have had 2 local techs take a look at it but neither wanted to attempt the repair. In a nutshell, it operates manually but not automatically. It will not auto return or auto start. It appears you have experience with these complex tables. I would like to talk with you about possibly repairing mine....??
Hello from Belgium ! :) My MB8841-327L is dead and I can't find it anymore on the web. Any idea of how I can repair that turntable without doing retro engineering ?
The vast majority of time when folks think their microprocessor is dead, it is not dead. These are the top problems - sticking tonearm lift cam, dirty position switches, calibration (particularly Slit A-B calibration) and dirty control panel switches. Address these things first. The deck can be completely non-functional and it is not the microprocessor.
Love listening how a master craftsman restored this beauty, thanks for sharing
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@@Round2Audio Thank you very much for your advice! I'll try it. I hope it'll work cause I love this turntable su much.
can you repair one of these if it's malfunctioning?
Hi, yes, what problems are you having?
what are the chances of the electronics malfunctioning in one of these? its not exactly spare parts heaven for this table from what ive seen
40 years old and still going strong, that's gotta mean something.
You mean PS-X75?
Good catch! I updated the title. Thanks.
