That's awesome mate, i must admit i was thinking of a similar sort of setup but the thought of removing my door panels and the sheeting i put in there again made me think otherwise haha, looks nice though, very racecar indeed!
Haha yeah, I think of it still had stick handles I would have kept those, but these do the job just as well. Once I put the panels on and hid all the cable and screws etc, they look really good.
Ainul Sofian in Australia it is called a grommet or an eyelet. Other countries may have different names for them, but that’s what they are called here. They aren’t very expensive and usually come in a pack of around 20 or more.
Anything solution to implementing a door pull without removing stock door cards/drilling into them? (18 wrx) Installing racing seats and reaching to close the door will be harder…
That’s an interesting one. I’m not sure how it would work without removing the stock door cards, unless you remove them, install a pull tab and then reattach the door card. Being in a racing seat, strapped in and trying to reach would be difficult, although I did see someone stuck their foot out above the roll cage, slightly kick the door so it bounced back towards them, grabbed the door and then closed it. I think it was Ken Block that I saw do that in one of his videos.
@@BigRigRacing Thanks for the reply! I came up with a solution. I found a screw that has a plastic cover over it, I could get a longer screw and put a strap in it.
The locking mechanism still works on the door. It has a pull-up tab on the door on the inside, and the key for the car can be used on the outside. The door pull tabs a made for the car only open the door, and does not change the locking function at all

great job. In hindsight would have been nicer back a far way more so you push/pull on the strap rather than pull it back. But works well!
