He's too used to tennis strokes. A table tennis forehand's followthrough is usually by the forehead and not at the chest. It took me a while to transition too, but I use very different followthroughs for both sports now
I used to play frequently with an older guy who was mainly a tennis player. He was rated about 1900 in tt, long strokes so he often got forced away from the table where he would chop on both sides. His short game was decent, good pushes and flips but mainly attacked without too much spin.
They're actually quite different sports. Some minimal overlap where one can help you get a head start in the other so to speak. I've played both past a certain level and to be honest past a certain point, from my own experience, they're not so compatible. The way Ma Long explodes through a backhand or forehand. The footwork. The reflexes. The equipment. Spin takes on a whole new dynamic in table tennis. Then watch Alcaraz. It's explosive still, but it's geared towards different conditions. He's ridiculously explosive and quick in tennis. In table tennis, unless he's played past a certain level, trained as such, he'd look very slow in table tennis. And to be honest, vice versa I'm sure as well. Ma Long probably wouldn't look so great on a tennis court unless, again, he's played past a certain level, trained as such. But they are great athletes and masters of the requirements, technical and physical, within their own sports.
@@kirihara147 the fact that both sports have tennis in the name might be the reason. Also, it does translate quite a bit. Any good tennis player can at least sustain a rally in tt, and vice versa.
@@joeschmoe6908 any good athlete can "at least sustain a rally". That has nothing to do with their sport, but rather with their high level physical abilities, reflexes and endurance.
love how he checks the strings at the end
So I’m not crazy he did, right ? 😂😂
Supervisor, where is this event's stringer...?
He’s got the 1980s technique
Wdym
@@Stuck_in_Spacehe’s got the 1980s technique

More like 1980s
He got that 1980s Soviet technique
I was expecting to hear a BWEH every shot.
😂
The same.😊
Plus 220+ kph serves...
and then he argues with his invisible friend everytime he loses a point
should be a must instead of the song
I always hear: PULL-YEH!
'Look how beautiful he looks, every shot is so beautiful' The Ping pong master Andrey Rublev 🎾👑
Lovely "bweh"
Bro takes everything seriously in sport!
The Travis Scott Jordan 1 Low Fragments Tho 🔥🤩
Where’s the bweh?
😂😂
In my mind's eye...
(or ear, tbh)
I love you Andrey rublev
One handed backhand played ALMOST that smooth way like Roger Federer...
all we needed was to hear his signature BWEEH
yup! this is great for his eye cordination for when he plays tennis
BWEH said: "nah I ain't losing" (process to take his pants off)
You can tell he's a tennis player just from the exaggerated follow throughs 😂
Рублев красава!😮
Damn, even in pingpong he has crazy racquet head speed lol
no he doesnt
A 5 year Chinese boy would beat him easily😂
Bwweehh!!!😂
No me imagino que pasaría con la raqueta de pin pon si se enfadara 😂😂
Those shoes tho🔥
Where is my Bweeh shot?
I wonder if he says “bweeh!” when hits the ball!
he now plays a one-handed backhand like Rogelio
He's really playing in travis Scott's with that technique
With that music i just feel he is ivan drago but who is Rocky😂
It'd be hella funny if he gave it the full bleewh with every forehand! 😂
he might be feeling strange while hitting backhand as it is single handed in table tennis :)
He should've keep taking off clothing...no complaints here
One hand backhand!
If rublev wants to be good in ping pong..he needs to learn the Chinese way..hips and legs is the most important part
Adorbs 🤭😃
I find Rublev very likeable.
This is ping pong indeed. I Think he should try table tennis.
come on, Ruble!!!!
Andrey looks good, but have you looked at world class players? They put their entire bodies into the shot to achieve maximum spin & power.
Faltou a bandana😂😂
No paddle breaking?😂
That's funny, love ❤️ it.
Damn,if he lost that ping pong match he would get on the tennis court very mad xD

Other way around for me, having to adjust to tennis strokes after playing table tennis.
And the Travis Js
Name of music?
haha
bweeh that pingpong ball!!!
Love to see rank no 1 in both tennis and table tennis playing against rank 100 player of the other sport
= Triple Bagel
Playing ping pong always messes up my tennis groundstrokes
He still has his tennis strokes 😅.. big at heart on ping pong but her stick to Tennis 🎾
I am yet to see a tennis player with proper table tennis technique . You would think some of it translates well eh

2 completely different sports why would that translate lmao

I'd be proud to beat him in a game that involves a racquet😅
comecei a jogar tênis antes de jogar ping pong, então eu jogo como se tivesse jogando tênis kkkkk, e eu sou mto bom nos 2

Did I just hear "bweeh"?
Ping pong's a fun game
Single hand backhand 😂😂

Table tennis, you mean.
Proper european grip would help him

That's not how u hold a ping pong racket
Great player! But ever since he was in juniors his face always reminded me of characters from The Walking Dead.
So you can play ping pong like tennis
Not bad
😮 ❤😂
Wiff Waff
Please. It's _table tennis_ don't ya know
Needs to work on that forehand... too cagey, bwuh

I play table-tennis and then watch the men's pros playing tennis and sympathise with each point they play.
