Man, I have been disappointed with many RUclips tutorial videos cuz many guys just don't know they are talking about and claim to be wizards ("Do you wanna sound pro? Subscribe!"), but you really help us here - you don't seem to aim at nothing but sharing what you know will work. Thank you.
thanks for the love, I'm Glad it helped! How did the panels turn out for you? Let me know what your like to see next on the channel. It's my goal to reach out more to subscribers to create videos that help you make progress and that you're excited about!
This is exactly the same method I chose for constructing my panels. Why pay a $100 bucks a panel when you can build it yourself for cheaper. Rockwool is the best option. Nice work
This is one of the more thorough videos on the subject! Mine always end a bit floppy because I like to leave the sides open as well. I ended up using roxul safe n sound for most of our latest ones too with a few of the bigger panels being Knauf ecose
This video is a year old so I doubt this'll get seen but as I'm after a solution for my room and not a studio, I'm not so much trying to improve the sound in my room as trying to stop sound in my room from getting out. My bedroom borders another on one wall and the wall is pretty shoddy acoustically, I think it's just one brick thick with plasterboard on each side, and the other room has a very high ceiling and lots of echo, so it's just one wall I'd like to deafen. Do I just put some on that wall or should I have some on the opposite wall too?
Hey R D, These panels wont help with soundproofing your room. It is unlikely they will have an effect at reducing noise spill into an adjacent room. However, for treating room reflections and flutter echo it's important to have treatment for each set of parallel walls, treating one side minimum (but ideally both in a listening position.) In short, if the room is has a ton of echo, it wouldn't hurt to treat both sides. You mentioned you've got a high ceiling in the other room. If you wanted to place treatment there, I've noticed a huge improvement since installing my DIY Clouds: ruclips.net/video/MGf8yC0RDhc/видео.html Again, this is all aimed and reducing reflections within a listening space. Sound proofing usually needs a specific type of wall construction, usually with an air gap and/or Mass Loaded Vinyl acoustic barrier. Hopes this helps, thank you for commenting!
One of the best tutorial videos I've seen on building and mounting acoustic panels, and even includes before and after samples. Thanks.

perfect tutorial and great description. I spent £300 on diying acoustic panels and bass traps and just realize I need metal wire lol.

Nice job, looking solid. I am not a drinker but I like the cork trick as well.
I definitely borrowed those corks :P I'll have to provide a TeeTotaler option as well. Thanks for watching!
