My old stamping grounds! I. 1964 > 1970, I did my apprenticeship with the Late A.E. Sherriff in what was once the BP Oasis Garage, but is now the Ampol Truck Shop. My parents and Late brother had the store (now closed) at Mannahill. Back then it was a South Australian Railways track maintenance town and had about 150 people. It now has a population of 7, 3 of whom are related to me by marriage. I have not been back since probably 1979 or so, but plan on driving over from WA, next year en route to Mildura. I loved growing up there and the station people and my Late boss, were absolutely fantastic. There is a lot of history in the Yunta to Broken Hill area and Bimbowrie Station out of Olary, was the second home to Mawson, the Antarctic explorer.

I feel like I was there for every minute of that trip. Every. Single. Minute.
Yunta! My home town 😊
