I have an E61 petrol, Euro Car Parts are not the company that originally supplied proper OEM quality parts bac in the 90's. Today they sell non OEM as well as 'sort-of' OEM parts. Its got to the point for me that I am considering spending over the top prices for genuine BMW parts as they will be genuine quality.
Use a long piece of metal tube 10mm, place it near your ear and point it at each pulley. it will focus the sound and will highlight the gremlin quickly. Obviously dont stick it into the moving parts!!!
Do these have a one way clutch on the alternator? Usually if they seize they cause the symptoms you are experiencing. Great to see some updates on the sd1 by the way. Will

BTW... Good effort !!
I've got a manual 530i E60 on a 53 plate, so hopefully some of your vids will help me with mine.

From experience, bearings under no or little load can seem fine but as soon as they're loaded up with belt tensions etc. they can sound dreadful.
I own an e60 and an SD1 so I feel your pain
You are clearly a man of outstandingly good taste!
What is the buzzing sound in the engine bay?
In comparison to this, it must be a delight to work on the SD1!
Love this 'live' action, although I'm sure you could do with out it on the reliable daily!

How many miles has it done? I had a 330d 2006 that had over 120k with no issues. They’re fantastic engines. I miss mine
That brake vacuum pump looks identical to the one on my 997, only Porsche like to leave them where they can get covered in salt and corrode out :|
Is there gonna be an update video once you've fitted the new one? I need to know if that's it now.
Yes I’ll update when I get the tensioners in. Fingers crossed it sorts it. Was worried for a time it was the flex plate breaking up.
Good work are you a mechanic
Fun times!
