I'm glad I could provide the content for you! He is an amazing person. If you're a fan of him like myself, you have great taste! Stay tuned. I have a couple more heavy hitter interviews as well coming out
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the support! Oh absolutely I had to share this momentous experience with my fellow lovers of the comic book craft such as yourself. To sit before these legends and and capture it..priceless
I am a comic book artist working with french publishers, but my goals are working for Marvel, and John Buscema always has been my idol. He really was and is the best illustrator working for Marvel. We clearly can feel the admiration that Sal has for his brother.
Congrats on your success and journey as an Artist. Absolutely and even when I had the privilege of speaking with him off camera, I could hear the depth of appreciation he had for his brother.
Wow, so cool. Reading the vol 1 omnis of the Defenders and Rom right now, and it's fascinating to see the evolution of Sal's style. I'm surprised there isn't tons of stuff about him on YT, and am grateful to find this. Thanks! : )
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Also, great selection of material you got there. Sal's art is captivating, and his art you can just get lost in. Also, I feel the same as you, I wish there was more on him. He is beyond legendary. I was so grateful to be part of this
I was familiar with the TV series hulk when it came out, with Lou Ferrigno, and was always curious about what the character was like in the comics. When I was 9, in 1982, I finally bought my first hulk comic - issue 272, drawn and inked by Sal, and I was hooked. The artwork amazed me and my father. But of all the hulk comics I could have bought, I bought the first one to have hulk with Banner's mind in control. Then I hungered for the back issues of classic version of hulk just to see the hulk-outs mainly, and understand the comic book hulk version. My hulk comic journey coincided with the debut of the 1982 hulk cartoon which featured the hulk's look inspired by Sal's version, which cemented for me that Sal was THE Hulk artist. That started my hulk comic collection for a few years, and Sal was just the greatest artist. His inking was awesome, but it was always great to see his art shine with other inkers like Joe Sinnott and Gerry Talaoc over Sal's pencils. The best! Such fond memories and I could sense Sal's love and respect for the Hulk character. Thanks for posting this video and providing a glimpse into this legend!
That's an outstanding experience. I really appreciate you sharing that. It's all about the priceless moments that connect us to this wonderful world of comics. It was a moment in time for me not only interviewing him but just in general speaking with him. He is like a wise, artistic sage. It was an honor to be in his presence in such a personable setting. I am so happy I was able to help put this on display for you 😊
@AllComicsAccess cheers again, man! I edited my post you replied to, just to expand upon the impact Sal had on the Hulk, and my experience of Sal's art. He even inspired me to work on my artistic talent!
This is awesome, I had no idea my grandpa did this. I've always been fascinated with his work. His basement is loaded with comic books, it's awesome.
