@@PiccoloGrandeCoro It’s very cool. I know that if I was born into a wealthy family, and had something like social media to fall back on, it would be very hard for me to try for a career like medicine. Or any career for that matter.

Good for Kamri for pursuing a career outside of RUclips and enjoy your youth for working night shifts. My mom did it for a long time as a heart nurse by late 20s you’ll be exhausted.
I remember my first 24 hrs shift, I was so nervous but so excited, I learned so many things but i ended being super tired because I could not sleep at all since there were 3 surgeries and one of them was over 3 hrs long, definitely exhausting but worth it. You are going to do great, its going to be tough but you are going to learn so much :)
Our night shifts are from 6:45 pm - 6:45 am. Most of them are workful and in a rush - so great that you won‘t get really tired. I try to sleep 2/4 am - 11am/1 pm on the day before. After the night shift I sleep from 10 am - 1 pm most of the times. The following nights are not really good- but after about 2-3 following days I‘m right back on track with my sleep cycle.
Kamri this is AMAZING please film more about your journey. Even if you're just studying for an exam or getting ready like this video but THIS content is everything
so happy to see you all pursuing passions outside of social media! it’s extremely honorable and a GREAT example for those that would love to follow in your footsteps 💖
the best way to get patient care experience during undergrad is to work as a CNA/ patient care tech!! Some hospitals require the CNA certification but many don’t. I did this during nursing school and it gave me the best exposure and so much knowledge that when I started as an RN I had so much less to learn compared to those who ONLY did Clinicals and shadowing. Actually having your own patient load reaches autonomy and time management and I can’t recommend enough
i’m planning on being a certified medical assistant after hs during undergrad. (in order to become a PA-C) would you say it’s better for me to be a CNA or MA

Thank you, Kamri, for getting the energy to film straight after a 10hr shift. You must have been exhausted then.

I'm a follower of Brooklyn amd Bailey and this video just came up on my page. Yes! I am very interested in following your med school journey. Hi from New Zealand! 👋
I'm a third year medical student (starting clinical rotations next month) so you have no idea how much it lights me up to see you on your journey with such passion and dedication!! You have the best attitude. :) I pray God continues to reveal the weight of this calling to be a healer of people in both their mind, body, and spirit. God bless!
As someone who works the night shift (which is 12 AM to 8 AM) at a hospital with a break just under 2-hours mid-shift, melatonin and sleep are a must. And there is no such thing as a slow shift at a hospital, even though I work in the hospital lab (with 3 people in the lab).
WOW girl I’m amazed! 9PM to 7AM 🫢 It’s cool tho that your enjoying it! I find it inspiring seeing people like you that love what you’re studying and despite the large school/work load, you take the first opportunity to learn more! And the ER must be tough! You’re so brave ❤️ God bless you Kamri 🤗
Long shifts aren’t bad when you’re doing something you love and it’s a steady pace. I once had a 13 hour shift in the ICU where I did literally nothing. It was awful just sitting there. But on the other hand, I did a 12 hour shift in the NICU (where I plan on working) and it flew by. I wish I was working this summer! I’m going into my last semester of nursing school so I’m jealous of your opportunity🤪
Sometimes it can be chaotic though, even in the lab (where shifts are supposedly 8 hours, but as hospitals are short on lab techs, one rarely works just 5 days a week). I'm also interested in Kamri's journey with STEM.

Night shifts get harder as you get older especially if you are just working nights but living with people who work days. That was my biggest issue with nights. Having people expect you to be awake when your body is forced to do the opposite. When your younger it's not bad, the best thing I found was fool your body into thinking 9pm is 9am. Like do your regular morning routine before you would go to work, eat breakfast and eat a lunch on shift but keep it lighter and then same when you get home at 7am, make your body think it's 7pm, eat supper and do your regular evening routine. If you normally go to bed at 9 or 10 pm try and stay up until that in the morning. This is what I found worked best for me as I worked nights for 18 months straight. And I would try to somewhat maintain that schedule on my days off. You won't have a social life. But eventually your body will tell you that nights aren't going to work and you be forced to switch to work a regular schedule or to flip to a rotational schedule which is common is hospitals anyways.
I loved this! Could you explain a bit better what you intend your process to be for the career you want? Maybe a sit down video?
