    If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't theft.

    I bought some games in the 90's-early 2000's, some first iterations like Fallout, Descent, Redneck Rampage, and GTA, but turns out I'm not a gamer! 🤔🧐🤓 I also bought my first Linux CD's (Slackware, Mandrake, Red Hat...) around that time too, and although it broke my brain back then, It was more exciting trying to get a system up and running with a penguin brain implant, then playing games and suffering endless deaths!😵😅

      Thank you buddy ! It is disheartening so many linux peeps still believe in the Capitalist religion without any criticism at all - its like they have zero clue why the open source movement are here, so for them its just free open sw that can be monetized 😞 Everything about the free open source world is a reaction against the profit nightmare from our most popular atheist religion - Capitalism..

    Google and other HUGE companies can make money and steal all of your data to make more money and feed their AI, but pirating their game or movie is a crime.

    I said a long time ago that companies should be forced to open source drivers & firmware if they're not going to support a platform (Lin/Win/BSD/etc). This should be extended to game servers.

    Everyone in the game companies responsible for this should be arrested and charged with fraud and theft.

    It was better years ago when we purchased games on physical media, and owned them. The only problem is that old games can only be played on newer computers with emulators and/or old computers.

      The crew had physical copies. Buying physical doesn’t protect you against anything. Not having to connect to a company’s server is all that matters.

      How is piracy going to make The Crew work?

    • @WoodyJohnson-r3v
      @WoodyJohnson-r3v 5 месяцев назад

      im not saying it will make the crew work. I just mean in general, this anti-consumer crap can in large part be avoided by just downloading the content, games, whatever that you want to use. for example when I buy a movie on amazon or whatever else I also download an MKV or MP4 of the movie because at some point wether you paid for it or not they are going to take the movie down and you will be left without it. it an increasingly common thing for "purchase" to not actually mean "purchase"

    no laws or regulations. thos etned to screw over the little guy and benefit corportations. the solution is simple! if you ar enot ok with it. dont buy the games. ubisoft took my crew copy! i am a simple man, they never ever get a single cent from me again. if you are ok with what ubisoft did keep giving them money. if not dont ever give them a single cent

      This is the concept of "vote with your wallet" but that concept is ultimately flawed and does not work. A company selling anything knows when people say yes but not when they say no. If they do have enough data from older purchases they could compare but not buying still does not express the why someone is not buying. They could think: "maybe they dont like these games anymore", "maybe they dont have time for games", "maybe they dont have the money this time" and the list goes on. The thought "we did something wrong" is very low down on the list, if it is even on the list at all. You can't count a negative so when someone "votes with their wallet" by not buying, that vote is either very unclear as to why or not counted at all.
      I am not saying laws or regulations will solve this but they have solved a lot over the years, capitalism is a very good economic system but it is also a very dangerous system if left unchecked, which is why it has been checked repeatedly by governments. Otherwise, we would have monopolies in every industry and thus no choice and no such thing as a free market.

      @@michael_tunnell my last messgae in case you dont know how governments work! stealing is already illegal! take them to court!
      but if you want regulations you think the regulation will just be a few lines signed sealed delivered! nope it will be 100 of pages. in the end the line you want will be there. but it wont matter to ubisfot because they are going out of the business to selling the game. entering the business of renitng games. but the other hundreds of pages will rgeulate and censor games even more! they are trying to crackdown on chats in game! anyways you a commie so you think they will not censor the left. sure at first they will only censor the right. but sooner or later all those game regulations will screw you the little guy, and the indie studios! and even benefit the corpos! all ubisoft wnat si 18 dolalrs form you a month
